Looks like a group of Trump supporters rolled up and attacked an anti ICE protest in Sacramento:
🚨 SAC!: Yesterday, legal observers at the Sacramento anti-ICE camp were attacked with bats and bear spray by a parade of MAGA pro-Trump supporters.

Not so fun fact: Tear gas isn’t a “gas”

If it’s not a gas, then what is it?

Answer: it’s an aerosol. And this distinction matters.

Let’s discuss 🧵

12/ I read policy every day. There are *huge differences* between red & blue on almost every issue. (The above is just a sample of issues I follow religiously.) Anyone who tells you there aren't enormous diffs is either woefully uninformed or a very bad actor. Listen to the people doing the work.

Before Germany surrendered unconditionally to its adversaries, doing another Nuremberg didn't have quite the same connotation. Is USA supposedly going to hold its own Nuremberg trials on its own leaders? The structural lack of accountability has been the issue hasn't it

My subway take is that vocal fry is fine and people shouldn't complain about it. The people who complain about it just do so out of a mix of misogyny or anti-California animus or both. Vocal fry can be part of an accent – it's not just an affectation for anyone who uses it

Russia and its supporters are desperate to hide one simple fact:

In March 2022, they occupied almost 30% of Ukraine. Today, almost 4 years later, they occupy only about 20%.

Any war where the invader holds less territory after 4 years than after 1 month is a disaster

a liberal who believes in free markets & a socialist who wants an economy without (or with less of) them might seem like polar opposites

but both want to rationally work out structures to maximise human welfare, both assume the moral equality of persons

fascists just don't care about any of that

I find it necessary these days to affirm the obvious because the descent into fascism is mostly a continuous, not discrete, process so here it goes:

these are internal checkpoints by secret police for what is routine freedom of movement.
It’s been reported locally, but I’m not sure how much national notice this has gotten. As part of this invasion by shithead goons, they are putting ICE agents in jetbridges and other parts of the airport at Minneapolis-Saint Paul. If you are flying Delta via MSP, you are putting yourself at risk.
