Funny, when I ran my own business, one of the biggest struggles we faced was finding and affording health insurance.
The key here is @they’re gonna feel like entrepreneurs.”

Trump knows that this is always a pathway for support from a certain segment of Americans - mostly men. The desire to “invest” and be an “entrepreneur.” Even without expertise, capital, or the resilience to endure failure.
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

Schumeer needs to go, both as leader and as senator. Even if he had ever been effective, he's past his prime.

I'd love to see Klobuchar or Booker. Neither would be perfect, but either would be a huge step up.

The only possible way this could benefit consumers is if insurance companies inexplicably point in first down to avoid playing hardball with 10,000 versions of your neighbor Glenn playing hardball.

Pretty sure they'll throw a touchdown on every down and just fuck us all.
I feel like you can say with some confidence that this is one area in their lives where Americans do not want to negotiate and feel like entrepreneurs.

Gutted by the Dems caving after the blue-wave wins of last week? Sick & tired of us snatching defeat from the jaws of victory? I hear you! Might I suggest you calm yourself, relax, take a deep, cleansing breath... then see if this photo of 2 pandas cuddling is of any help.

Embarrassing.

Fuck Tim Kaine. Mediocre senator and attriciously lousy veep pick.
Tim Kaine on backlash he's getting: "I got the first good night's sleep last night that I've gotten since Oct 1, b/c I wasn't worried about being able to look Capitol Police in the eye when I walked in, or what a furloughed fed worker would say to me at church, or what somebody would say about SNAP"

The harm caused by the shutdown was real, affecting millions, and no one should downplay that. But America is not in a situation of harm or no harm. Rapidly backsliding into authoritarianism, America is in a terrible situation where appeasement trades short-term relief for more long-term harm.
Democrats Have to Get Out of a Normal Democracy Mindset
By folding in the government shutdown in exchange for virtually nothing, eight Democratic senators aid Trump's authoritarian takeover rather than oppose it

Probably a programmed auto comment.
The funniest part of Elon spiraling out about this is that he isn’t responding with anything linked to others or relationships, just posting “great movie”
For reference. I might print this out and hang it in my house:

I rescind my long support for the dollar coin. I could support his face on the penny and then eliminate it before any get issued.

Look, I know all lawyers are crooks, but of you need a presidential pardon, should you still get to practice?
Having been pardoned by Trump, Rudy Giuliani wants his bar license “immediately reinstated,” per his rep Ted Goodman

Can we dump Schumer and replace him with Pelosi?
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Senator, in addition to dumping Chuck Schumer, you ought to for Eugene is responsible for this video still. It's horrid.
The President is begging the courts to let him CAUSE hunger.

Who does that?

Always delighted to see the late Sal Mineo getting work on CNN.

Numbers so bad that maybe the DC press corpse will have to pay attention.
Ooof. I missed that Consumer Sentiment is the lowest the University of Michigan has ever measured in more than 70 years.

Yo Gomer, if you made employee health care more accessible and your own state did more to force employers to do that, the numbers would probably go down.

Your state is a "taker," so maybe YOU and your state are the problem.
Comer: "This is a fake economy. You can't have 1/3 of America receiving some type of free government healthcare and then have another 1/3 that's getting a subsidized rate. That falls on the final 1/3 that's having to pay increased premiums."

This will end well.
The President pardoned members of his private militia after they failed to overturn an election; they, in turn, pledge their support to him and urge him to use them to police civil society.
New:

On The Gateway Pundit's podcast yesterday, Stewart Rhodes announced he's relaunching the Oath Keepers

He also urged Trump to “call us up as a militia" & "order us all to come together in our counties under his command."

Yup. That's their hope.
“We’ll see.”

We’re supposed to accept that Democratic leadership allowed this caliber of strategist to negotiate a deal with the most diabolical, mendacious group of politicians in American government.
Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.
