A woman is killed by a man every 3 days in the UK...

78% are murdered by a partner/ex

Yet not once have I heard Reform talk about this

Not once have I heard them back measures to protect women’s safety

In fact, they voted against them...

Lizzi, as ever, is correct. This was just Parliamentary theatre from Farage. We shouldn’t give him what he wants by pretending it was at all serious.

10 Minute Rule Bills are a good way of drawing attention to an issue that wouldn’t otherwise be debated but they’ve zero chance of ever becoming law.

We don't vote on ten minute rule bills. It's not subject specific.

When a newspaper is caught lying
@thetimes.com and
@telegraphnews.bsky.social and @dailymail.co.uk there need to be far harsher punishments.
Is this enough though?

They should print retractions & apologies and ties should be as prominent as the original false statements

Very eloquent from Wes Streeting. This isn't a memorised speech - it's from the heart.
Well said, Wes! 👏 👏 👏

Not a peep from the Putin Puppet Farage today over his MP’s divisive and racist rhetoric. Not fit to govern.

Is there a new startup list going around to which I've been mis-added?
It's not often I wake up to 40-odd new followers.
I hope I don't disappoint.

The Tory plan to copy Idi Amin, the cannibal, and deport millions of legally resident people, nurses, doctors, teachers, mums, engineers etc., was hatched in May and no-one noticed until October.
Boy, they are so fucked.
Almost nobody in the Cons Party or beyond it had noticed that the Shadow Home Secretary with two other frontbenchers and 5 backbenchers tabled a bill in May to deport 3 million people - stripping almost every pensioner, parent or nurse who did not take out citizenship of their right to live here

In a blow to Rachel Reeves, the super rich declare that despite this type of wealth tax raising more revenue than expected, a direct wealth tax definitely wouldn't work.
Well would you look at that

Thank you to @mrjamesob.bsky.social for having me on, one of the v few people in the UK press to follow this story during what is now a decade of media apathy &/or complicity
‘The threat couldn’t be more urgent and imminent. Yet here we are, still putting our head in the sand.’

@carolecadwalla.bsky.social says it’s ‘peculiar’ that the case of Farage ally Nathan Gill admitting to making pro-Russia speeches for cash isn’t being followed more closely.

This needs repeating again and again and again.
Alongside begging our MPs to call out racism and defend the role of migrants to the country.
Starmer isn't moving to the right, raising minumum wage, free breakfast clubs, additional free childcare, Employment Rights bill, renationalising rail, Better Start programmes, VAT on private school fees 50% rise in APD for private jets and so much more are not remotely right wing policies.

Well, it’s up Labour and their 400 MPs to make sure that this is fully exposed and the main talking point on every politics show. They should be asking questions in Parliament too. And I thought that this is the sort of thing that should be planted as a Q during PMQs too.
