Watched Bladerunner again last night. Would have been so much better if they had gone with the original idea, that instead of origami unicorns, Edward James Olmos’ character had made balloon animals.

They're laughing at you. Your life means nothing to them. They will chew up and spit out a billion lives for a penny. They will not stop, ever.

The Glinner article in The Observer (I ain't posting it but if you want to find it I've given you the relevant info) is WILD! The journalist is genuinely transphobic and STILL thinks Glinner is a mentally unwell danger who should stop.

Please be nice to receptionists 📞🐦

We can’t control if the person you want to speak to is in a meeting/having their sandwiches/sitting on the toilet/having a cry in the stationery cupboard/using their skipping rope in the car park/chatting to their pencil case etc

there comes a moment about five minutes after encountering a lost dog when you stop actively looking for a panicked owner and start to imagine a life with the dog. which makes the owner’s eventual appearance pretty bittersweet

I keep forgetting to say - on the blog I wrote about being called a contrarian for doing history, why misunderstandings of the "Dark Ages" ignore materialist circumstances and also just, you know, any history at all whatsoever.

On contrarian history
Unfortunately, though I have made the world’s best booty shorts and deployed them with great skill and aplomb, there are still those in our society who refuse to heed my message, and also to learn …

I was extremely pleased to get my first ever royalties on my first ever book, which came out in 2023. It was £50 from sales of the audio book, which had an advance of (if memory serves) £2,500. So the audiobook of Grave Expectations has made £2,550 in nearly three years.
The majority of books published lose money and the majority of authors do not earn out their advances if they were lucky enough to get one. If you do the math on an hourly wage, writing is frankly bonkers as any kind of career.

My mum has brought around a nativity set for the baby, and I am pleased to announce some new Jesus lore: our lord and saviour did not, in fact, go inside the manger, but instead went on the roof of the barn and kept sliding down it going "wheeeeee!"

I am legitimate British English business man already working hard for paying 2400% taxations to glorious Britain government.
The effective tax rate on our business is 96%. Net VAT, rates, an industry specific sales tax, NI, corporation tax, energy taxes, fuel duties, and finally income tax, means that for everyone £1 I get, the government takes £24. That's quite high.

Fun fact I couldn't mention until now: At the time Graham Linehan was harassing Sophia Brooks online, I was contacted by her former teachers and School Safeguarding Team to get her latest contact details, as they were worried sick about her being publicly stalked by an abusive alcoholic celebrity.

The Court judgement contains the great line:

"No medical diagnosis is offered, or explanation how religious belief is affected by gaudy colours"
A wild read, from start to end.
A bigot tried to use autism and Catholicism to attack LGBTQ+ inclusion in a private business' premises, targeted the wrong company, used AI to write his complaints, and changed his story halfway through and late.
He's now liable for costs, having failed spectacularly.
In the Sheriff Appeal Court, an Edinburgh man's case against Natwest claiming £35,000 in damages for breaches of the Equality Act as a result of his "phobia of Pride-related paraphernalia" has been dismissed. www.scotcourts.gov.uk/media/ygvbue...

Curious how Sophia, (remember a teenager who wasn't on trial), being arrested by EIGHT officers didn't make front page news. She didn't get a supportive statement from the PM or the Free Speech Union for some reason
Here's a thread from Twitter shared with Sophia's permission in which she finally is able to talk about Graham using the police as HIS personal goon squad and getting Sophia arrested at home by EIGHT armed police officers, somewhat putting the standard Heathrow armed cops in perspective.
