And know what's really fun? I was sick the first couple months of this year, three zero income months, so I'm behind this year and much of what I earned was spent to pay for my health insurance. The high-deductible insurance that covered almost nothing.

At that price, I'll have to increase my income by 50% (more contracts or higher rates). On the plus side (plus?!🤣), my premiums are tax-deductible so I won't have higher taxes even with more income.

I'm a small biz owner (as in the business is me, just me) and I didn't qualify for subsidies because I have a spouse with a job that makes just enough to knock me out. I got a *deal* on a trade union membership policy, $920 a month for a high-deductible plan. I'm budgeting for $2000/month for 2026.

Premiums are going up 46.3% on average...and that's for full price enrollees.

I'm in NYC all the time for work. My cousins will occasionally message me asking if I ride the subway, isn't it dangerous, etc. I've started posting videos and pictures of my non-eventful subway rides (i.e., all of them) on Facebook.
