Trans people in Texas please remember you cannot change your state documents (birth certificate, ID, etc.) right now even with a court order -- and will wind up with your information sent to the AG's office if you try.

Ariyah Jané Albert, Community Counselor at Lavender Rights Project, says it's important to understand that many systems are not made with trans people in mind. “There are some systematic things we should take care of for our safety,” she says.

I really don't like systems that force libraries to pay-per-use and I wish libraries themselves were more upfront with users about how much every movie you take out from Hoopla or Kanopy is costing the library.

Zero tolerance is the ONLY and FITTING response to genAI being used in production of media.

Sure, you might think it's too harsh. Sure, they might've only used it for early stuff in development, etc

Listen, it's not even a SLIPPERY slope, there is NO friction at all unless we speak out against it.

Exactly this: the administration’s concentration camps should be a howling, daily outrage, a scandal of historic proportions.
Bari’s complaint was “there’s nothing new here” and while that’s untrue it’s also irrelevant

“we intentionally sent people to be tortured in a hellhole and bragged about it and The Hague is too good for everyone involved” is a story that simply cannot be told enough

Some Dems have told themselves only ~1% of the population is trans so they can dip their toe in the anti-trans filth and come out clean.

I don't have any trans family members—but it still makes me irate. I see it as a huge red flag, a sign you are unprincipled and untrustworthy. And I'm not alone.
We are parents of a trans kid and our family takes this very, very personally. If you intentionally make life harder for our beloved daughter, it’s EXTREMELY hard to think of you as an ally, to say the least. @amyklobuchar.com - you still send us requests for money, while hurting our kid. Disgusted.
Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->

I'm told that HHS has just terminated all funding agreements with the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Here's a letter HHS sent canceling one of the grants, relating to work on birth defects. Canceled because the project "emphasizes equity, diversity, and inclusion as key foundational components"

Remember how I said I have it written into my foreign-language contracts that my work has to be translated by an actual human? This shit is why.

Those book translations are gonna suck. They'll save money putting out books that are going to be painful to read. That's not a great long-term strategy.
French publishing house Harlequin decided to use AI translation instead of human translations.

All their freelance translators (some of whom had been working with Harlequin for +30y!!!) were told they would no longer receive work from Harlequin

The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

Not "a sort of" eugenics; rather a straightforward "if the disabled/immune compromised/poor/sickly die, there'll be more resources for the elites like me." Pure Nazi sh*t. He's a hateful monster.

Only a matter of time until a UC Berkeley law professor writes a memo justifying torture, a brave Vanity Fair writer gets tortured to say whether it hurts, and we have a national discussion about whether certain people should be tortured for our safety.

It was hard to convince Americans torture is wrong as a moral principle during Bush's term, and that was with the debate about whether torture makes us safer. I'm afraid for a portion of Trump's base, that calculation matters less. Idea of torturing undocumented immigrants may even bring pleasure.

Yes that was entirely the goal of this all, and for some bizarre reason academics were framing this whole thing in the context of rubrics and whether the paper deserved an A or B or whatever.

Congratulations on playing the transphobes’ game so well.

watching so many of my friends and loved ones trying to get citizenship in various places over the past 10 years it's absolutely blatant how everywhere is pulling up the drawbridge and shameful how this just doesn't seem to get any attention
Kinda feel like I'm going insane watching country after country give in and tighten their citizenship policies and nobody seems to recognise it as an ideological trend

Nothing to see here, just the country's first and second-most prolific pedophiles exchanging postcards from their respective prisons about the president being a pedophile
DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

I just wrote an article about this and decided not to publish it yet. It is in the DOJ files (file got renamed after originally published and taken down. It’s online now). But too many unknowns about whether the letter itself is real or not. Some additional info though:

This is what it is to be a trans professional.

Any pretext will be used to eliminate us. Our institutions abandon us, refuse to fight for us - even when all we're guilty of is doing our jobs correctly.

How are we meant to live in society? How are we supposed to win?
