Hey, I'm Fergus! I don't think I ever did an introduction post, so here we go. I'm a British Narrative Designer/writer type who's been living in Copenhagen for nearly 4 years now.

Until recently I've mostly been working on my own interactive fiction stuff and game jams (mrfergusdoyle.itch.io )...

The fact that these sentences always end with "... which we will cram with more work for them" and not "... so we moved to a four-day workweek" really illustrate the hollowness of some AI evangelists' promises that AI will deliver us to some kind of post-work utopia.
“By removing writing from reporters’ workloads, we’ve effectively freed up an extra workday for them each week” is such a strange sentence to read.

“I’ve reviewed over 50 sticky toffee puddings” is an incredibly powerful way to begin a video

This one was a genuine rabbit hole, very fun to research and write. I did not expect "underwater basket weaving" to connect to basically every social issue of the mid 20th century

This email chain is not real. It’s a very well written parody – “Thank you good sir” is the cherry on the cake. Immaculate characterisation, voices and plotting in three lines. It’s fake, but whoever wrote this could probably write a damn good comic novel.

Hey I’m Margaret, an experienced game programmer / generalist (13 years game industry exp) currently looking for work!

I’ve adapted to many different tech stacks in my career, and would like to find a team to work with in the EU (remote) or in Berlin (hybrid/on-site) on a full time long term basis.

I participated in Jams of the Timescape vol. 2, where we made Ancestries for the fantasy ttrpg DRAW STEEL.

Together with Yaron, I made an ancestry where you get to play a monstrous Bredbeddle, a headless giant looking for a new head.

Check it out here - it's free to download!

I always associate The Waste Land with a library copy I read at University where a previous scholar had annotated the line "Winter kept us warm" with "This is odd, winter is cold"
April is the cruelest month, but it’s January so we should be all good.

We are joined by @eclecticradical.bsky.social to discuss T.S. Eliot’s 1922 modernist masterpiece, “The Wasteland.”

We also discuss Eliot the guy…less of a masterpiece as a human being unfortunately.

I've been commissioned to write a piece about games based on real places that changed peoples' perception of that place or had some kind of local impact - are you a dev who made a game like this? Or are you a player who has a story about a game that inspired you to visit somewhere? Let me know!

Wait, people don't like the ending of Snow Crash? I know it's kinda pat but so are Gibson's (even if they have a bit more of a sting in them than Stephenson) but compared to the Diamond Age, I thought Snow Crash's ending worked pretty well
