Original screenshot in Q2, compared to running the map in Unity (in full color and "software mode" without colored lights). Light mapping needs work and I know how I want to improve it, but very satisfied with the results at this stage
I absolutely have to get off this "do it right" mindset and just jump back in

hello #gamedev friends! 🎮😺🕹

I'm on a search to find friendly, active, focused, *SMALL* game developer discords (less than 1000 people).

know of one I should check out? grateful for any recommendations!
And yes, paid courses are fine!
Can anyone recommend any Unity tutorials / classes that AREN'T basic / beginner / "my first whatever" type of stuff? Assume I've done all of my prototyping and proof of concept work, and I'm ready to begin building full scale systems that will work beyond a single Scene #unity #gamedev #solodev

Early humans were online an hour, maybe two hours, per day
Maybe not "new" but F-Zero 99 was a ton of fun at launch
Where would it aggregate it from? This seems easy enough to do or at least experiment with, but I wouldn't even know where to begin to find respectable "gaming news" sources to roundup from

FPS FANS: Every week we like to highlight something cool in the indie FPS world - like Mohrta's release, which we'd say is running real well ;p
FPS DEVS: What have you been up to this week? Show it off!
mohrta is out on steam, please lmk if it runs lol
Looking forward to this one. I think there's some really interesting ideas in Q4 that got kind of smothered by mid-00s gaming trends. The stroggification narrative could have been supported with more interesting or radical gameplay elements / changes

All worth it for THAT scene, though

This is 100% accurate, every time:
David Graeber said this in 2012 about protests in New York City.

Though this is increasingly what is happening this week in Los Angeles.

A LOT of people criticize or dismiss games because they aren't something they never said they were trying to be or were trying to be, but people just... thought they were going to be that. And then they weren't, and they get mad at the game for it and call it "bad"
