A major newspaper publishing guide to help people identify the munitions their government is using against them is a real "Late Republic America" timepeice that future historians will comment on.
Here's how to identify some crowd control munitions, canisters of which federal agents have left on the ground after deploying them against people in Minnesota. bit.ly/3YWp1jE

🚨 This should alarm everyone.

The #UK has lost measles elimination status — not because vaccines failed, but because vaccination rates fell.

The US is on track to lose it too.

#Measles is highly contagious, dangerous, and vaccine-preventable.

People talking about Nuremberg trials for ICE should be reminded that Lt William Calley, who carried out the My Lai massacre in Viet Nam, served 3 days in prison before Nixon commuted his sentence to house arrest, where he spent 3 years at home. His defence was that he had been poorly trained.

Biden, Obama, Bush, Clinton. All former cabinet secretaries. All need to speak up. Why are they silent at this moment? Why is up to ordinary Americans to lead in this crisis?

From this moment forward (and before, but clearly now):

-If you work for ICE.
-If you vote for money for ICE.

You are complicit. This is the gestapo. You're on the wrong side. You can't pretend not to know.

Another day, another murder by ICE.

And no, I don’t really care what the details are because ICE shouldn’t even be there at all.

Armed, masked thugs shouldn’t be ANYWHERE in America.

I am watching what is happening in Minneapolis on Ali Velshi and one of the ICE officers (off camera) literally says, “It’s like Call of Duty. Pretty cool huh?” as they shoot whatever it is they are shooting. Agents walking around, guns unholstered for no reason. This is insanity

So, if multiple agents tackle a person to the ground, beat him, and then shoot him repeatedly, they cannot later say it was ok cause they later found he was armed - which is neither a crime nor one that carries the penalty of immediate execution.

There's no Nobel prize for killing civilians.

All of this is fucking senseless. Minnesota did not have an immigration problem. Trump sent his Nazi thugs here because he's racist against Somali people and to own libs like Tim Walz. Now two Minnesotans are dead and Minneapolis is on the verge of going up in flames. None. Of. This. Was. Necessary.

there are so many gutting stories, but this one is hitting me extra hard. just imagining wael tarabishi slowly dying without his dad there to care for him because he was jailed by ICE makes me…i don’t have words. this country is disgusting.
Disabled son of ICE detainee dies after 30 days of hospitalization
It had been months since Wael Tarabishi seen his father. The family is calling on ICE to release Maher Tarabishi so he may attend his son's funeral.

Don't forget the Supreme Court's role facilitating ICE's brutality and racism in Minneapolis. SCOTUS lifted an injunction that limited racial profiling in immigration enforcement on Sept. 8. The federal assault on Chicago began the next day. Then came the Twin Cities. SCOTUS greenlit these horrors.

National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

A must-read thread about the resistance in mpls.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
