Support @wearequeeraf.com - They're the kind of journalism we need right now.

Hopefully, with sufficient support, we can have a focused Scottish edition 🤞
🏳️‍⚧️ In the past year, our investigations have set the news agenda - and have been used in debates about Trans+ rights in Parliament.

Here’s the impact your support makes possible 👇🧵

A court has ruled that the government's authoritarian ban on Palestine Action was unlawful.

Time to stop criminalising the people protesting a genocide - and start ending the UK's complicity.

High Court: proscription of #PalestineAction was unlawful.

Greens voted against proscription, so we welcome this.

Govt must now immediately end its authoritarian attacks on peaceful protest, and fully address its complicity in the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

It's also about the rich, powerful men who LIED to us to cover up their involvement.

You can't... repeal... a scientific finding. At that point it's just called lying about it.

I would go as far to argue that this is worse than Section 28. It is complete censorship of trans kids. It's harming the most vulnerable. It is not just denying a person's sexuality (which in itself is awful), but denying an individuals identity.

State conversion therapy.

No one, 50y ago, would believe a drug-addled dunderhead could be a health secretary. Especially not in the most advanced high tech country in the world. We can laugh at the stupidity but the destruction of US science, the EPA, the FDA & CDC sets back not just the US, but world health by decades.

Whomp whomp two weeks later and you can add the full on introduction of trans section 28 to your trans history timeline
Yeah no i really think you kinda made a fool of yourself if you have a nice chat with Keir Starmer about a bloody awareness week
Just think if we’re giving labour mps credit for gestures like signing support for trans history week it just reduces pressure on them to Actually do anything. They ought to be confronted by their hypocrisy and to defy it will take a fuck of a lot more than wishing for our “dignity and respect“

Can we get a strong statement on this @zackpolanski.bsky.social, show people there is another way, another choice.

I think trans people could do with hearing someone vocally standing up today.

Thanks.
Labour's Manifesto promised to ban conversion therapy. But I defy anyone to explain how, looking at the totality of its policy platform, Labour's real policy is anything other than promoting desistance.
Labour continues to troll the trans community - and to prioritise pleasing the right wing press. We know Hilary Cass was selected for her transphobic views: Kemi Badenoch told us exactly that.

So why is she running trans policy for Labour?

It’s when I hear people haven’t ever seen the sea that I remember the UK is a grouping of pretty small islands. I think the furthest you can be from the sea is about 55 miles, and it’s usually much less.

There’s still a few people here who haven’t seen it even here, ofc.
I think ALL THE TIME about people who've never seen the sea. If you grew up in a tiny country like Britain it's difficult to imagine. However poor your family was, you'll have been dragged to a lovably shit seafront before you were 15.
I vastly envy folks who grew up near the ocean. I am 23 years old and have never seen the ocean. It's 1000 miles away.

Fuentes, yesterday: “Our #1 political enemy is women because women constrain everything, every conversation, every man, everything. They have to be imprisoned. They are the ones that are hurting the fertility rate. They're the ones making us sympathetic to poor people, which are also brown people.”
