“We fight to win. That means we lose and lose and lose - until we’re ready. All you know now is how much you hate. You bank that, you hide that - you keep it alive until you know what to do with it.”

Wherever you find a dipshit whose fundamental beliefs make no fucking sense, you find a dipshit who has fully and gleefully embraced generative AI to soothe the pain of being a dipshit.

That is its only purpose, other than producing CSAM and being a ponzi scheme and justifying mass layoffs.

To hell with a Joe Rogan for the left. Can I have a Mitch McConnell for Democrats, please? Imagine having someone who would go as hard in the paint for civil rights as McConnell did for antiblackness.

Sure they shut down the govt and then caved at the worst time thanks to the usual rotating centrist villains, which as leader, Schumer failed to control (I recall stories that he had given the consent to negotiate seperately from the rest of the senate D’s). They resist as long as it’s performative.

Plenty of us regularly send form letters and voicemails. I have a pile of email replies from his office that come in weeks later and they’re rarely even accurately addressing the issues from the initial contact, all just automated slop and hot air. He sucks.

If there’s any grounding element in the film, it’s the data center which just looms as a monolith in the background as the very real, most consequential character in the story while simultaneously being ignored in favor of the projected culture war stuff. To each their own though!

Aster is an absurdist. Audiences see it how they see it but the story is couched in the pov of paranoid Covid denialists, so the manifestation of “antifa super-soldiers” *at all* alone having them arrive on a sleek jet with a *literal globe emoji* on the tail is just a projection of their delusion.

What we’re seeing with WaPo is part of a larger trend.

If it’s not clear by now, there is nothing big money gets its hands on that does not dirty and destroy.

- housing
- law
- govt
- media
- entertainment

What we call “enshittification” is really the capitalization of everything.

hard to think of a better example of "you may not believe in class war, but billionaires know they're in one" than this
This is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.

The city should offer to buy them out and turn the apartments into public housing. Bezos would love that shit.

Very little if anything seems to have changed on the ground. ICE is still out there terrorizing neighborhoods and trying to disappear neighbors. None of us on the ground are buying this bullshit. We will keep organizing and fighting.
The intense fallout from the killing of Alex Pretti has forced President Trump to publicly change course in Minneapolis.

Listen to our White House reporters discuss the changes on today's episode of "The Daily."
Trump Changes Course in Minneapolis
The White House has been met with broad outcry over the killing of Alex Pretti, as well as pushback from Congress.

If we get out of this, guys like Ian should be scouted / promoted and put into leadership across the armed forces and law enforcement from the Feds all the way down to local PD’s. Aggressively change the culture or it’ll always be a liability.

Ian Austin, an Army veteran, was arrested for protesting ICE in Minneapolis. But he’s continued protesting. Senior reporter @julialurie.bsky.social spoke to him.

“When they say, ‘Why would you be out here?’ How the fuck could I not be out here?” he says. “My nation is under attack."

Groups like the Heritage Foundation need to be destroyed.

Stripped of tax exempt status, the ability to spend unlimited sums of money on politics, and the ability to conceal donors.

Go down a list: Heritage, CNP, the Manhattan Institute, ALEC, DonorsTrust, Americans for Prosperity, etc.

Following the Kent State massacre in May 1970, a Gallup poll showed that 58% of Americans thought the shootings were justified. The night *before* the killings, Ohio's GOP governor described the student protesters this way: "They're the worst type of people that we harbor in America."

Years from now, it'll be difficult to explain the things people in media were wailing about before all this. Sophomores writing underconsidered op-eds about cultural appropriation. Protests against demagogues on campus. YA drama. "Mobs" on Twitter. These were the threats to free society.

People say that the GOP is all stick no carrot, that they forgot the bread and circuses.

But the thing is these guys are all incredibly cooked in the CSAM slop Nazi bar, playing to a tiny but loud group of utter freaks for whom murder and cruelty *is* the carrot and the bread and the circus.

Just part of that dynamic where printing someone’s lies in the press is part of the job, but identifying them as lies or calling someone a liar is forbidden.

The people who spent years defending and even lionizing Kyle Rittenhouse and Ashli Babbitt now want us to believe that an unarmed mother in her car and a disarmed nurse were domestic terrorists who deserved to be murdered by law enforcement.

Now let’s see if the media and the opposition party will quit giving these sociopaths the benefit of the doubt or assuming they’re capable of behaving in good faith. Call them on their bullshit and laugh at the feigned outrage and grievance. Fuck them.
