I can’t overemphasize: CBP has been doing this kind of thing, in the desert, miles away from cameras, for years. The desert is where people are disappeared. A migrant hiking in is lucky to have made it through the Darien gap, so them being abducted and disappeared at the river doesn’t get noticed.
