Do emails that notify the account owner of suspension currently mention which specific post triggered the suspension? (Because if not, they really should…)

Sarah’s THEY KNEW is literally about how the pervasive lack of transparency and accountability in governance makes conspiracy theories thrive and destroys civic trust. Feels a little on the nose.

Sarah Kendzior has never violated a TOS in her life. She doesn't even engage in back and forth arguments with other users. I don't know what she could possibly have done to be suspended. What the hell, @safety.bsky.app?

durbin sucks ass, of course, but it's telling of the rest of the senate dems that he has been allowed to be the senate whip for the party the entire time. this is the guy who's supposed to get *other* people in line
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

ICE agents in Chicago violently detain a non verbal autistic man for being “non compliant”

He couldn’t “comply” because of his disability…they don’t care

This is not the first time they’ve gone after a disabled person

They target the most vulnerable because it’s an easy way to meet their quota

It's insane that this even needs to be said.

“A free country does not dispatch police in the dead of night to pull people from their homes because a sheriff objects to their social media posts,” @adamsteinbaugh.bsky.social speaking to @willoremus.com.

A retired policeman posted a Charlie Kirk meme. He spent a month in jail.
The 61-year-old Tennessee man plans to sue after authorities dropped charges over a political Facebook post. Free-speech advocates say it’s a symptom of a wider crackdown.

Daylight Savings Time is strange to me. We would rather change their clocks rather than change the conventional work day to start later in the winter. It seems our modern idea of work is more immutable than clocks, our relation to the sun, and time itself.
DST is why most Americans wake by alarm in darkness. Permanent Standard Time would let us sleep longer and awaken naturally to sunlight, for health!

this is something that individual members of Congress could do tomorrow. The government is shut down so they could use their district offices. I suggested in January that they turn those offices into full on community centers where people could find each other re: mutual aid etc...
If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

Grocery stores run on razor-thin margins. The overnight disappearance of the demand stimulated by food stamps will be very bad for their business. Bad enough to exacerbate food deserts. Bad enough to put downward pressure on the overall food supply.

A reminder: nothing is truly private on Bluesky. Blocked accounts can still find ways to see your posts.

That said, the point of blocking is to starve trolls of oxygen (and these accounts are now all only staffed by DOGE trolls) & to keep your own peace of mind as close to intact as possible.
Go ahead and block whatever .gov account you want but it’s not going to make any difference to their ability to monitor posts at all.

Before blocking please also consider a small act of resistance that doesn't require feeding any trolls. Every small act of citizenship slows down the propaganda apparatus.
