I really just hate the whole gold = exp thing.

I am not a fan of AD&D as a system, but I've got a really good GM.

Ester brought me pork and vegetables cooked in coconut milk. You have never heard a noise like the one Sadie made when she smelled it. Okay, if you own a cat, you may have heard a similar noise. So, I pulled off a very small piece of pork, rinsed the heck out of it, and gave it to her.

We'd been trying to kill that bastard for at least a month.

The 5 goblins that one of our spellcasters summoned: 3 of them make their to-hit rolls, and thus died Snurr, King of the Fire Giants. Hilarious.
nutshellgulag.bsky.social
Meanwhile, the rest of the party and henchmen had killed all the other fire giants and hellhounds and rushed over before Snurr could hit our rogue again. Player characters roll: we all miss. NPC party members roll: they all miss. Beserks summoned by two different Horns of Valhalla roll: they miss.

So, in my AD&D game last night, we were fighting Snurr (Snurre?) in the AGAINST THE GIANTS module. Our rogue got a great backstab on him after our druid got him in the eyes with pyrotechnics, but then Snurr got the rogue with his extremely nasty sword. One more hit like that, and the rogue would die

I remember someone once scolding me that advocating for cats to be indoor-only is “classist” because not everyone can afford toys to keep them entertained inside. I was like madam their favorite things are sticks, crinkly paper, and cardboard boxes. Literal garbage.

Find someone who loves you as much as this prat loves his chewed up flap of cardboard.
A cat in a box. Well, about 17% of a box, anyway.

A few of the daily sketches from my sketchbook this week 🐦
A sketch portrait with figure with an ornate halo crown and necklaces; two birds with their wings tucked in flank either side of their face. A figure embraces a heron; the heron wraps its neck around their head. Both are half submerged in water, with plants emerging from the water.

Hey #portfolioday I've never actually participated in this before! Currently finished with the kid's show and just working on my own thing these days :)

I should introduce myself properly.
I'm Silvana, a 37 year old illustrator and character designer. I am currently working on an Indigenous children's show for APTN, called Chums! My art focuses on animals, butts and my relationships with life and death. But it's mostly drawings of butts.

Treasure of the Ninja (1987)

No budget DIY ninja flick about a quest for a treasure worth $15 million. The movie's overlong, but it's overflowing with "let's put on a show" charm and the action is often thrilling.

Starring, written, and directed by William Lee - BOTD in 1961

🌿THE 7 FLOWERS OF AUTUMN🥣

Mirroring the '7 Herbs of Spring' (七草の節句), consumed for good health and luck in January, come the '7 Flowers of Autumn', known as 'Aki-no-Nanakusa' (秋の七草/秋の七種).

These plants are mostly a feast for the eyes and not the belly.
#Japan #Kyoto #秋の七草
Sweets inspired by Japanese bellflowers. A selection of dried sweets for teatime... red dragonflies and bush clover symbolise the coming of autumn. The last is in the shape of a 'Genji Window' (itself inspired by Murasaki Shikibu's visit to Ishiyama-dera). An unusual sweet that symbolises the blustery weather that typically arrives with autumn. A grass is depicted almost flat, as if it has been pushed down by the wind. Another sweet inspired by Japanese bellflowers. The flower is branded onto the delicately purple gyuhi (a softer version of mochi) which surrounds a white bean paste interior.
