To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."

Hegseth order on first Caribbean boat strike, officials say: Kill them all
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.

When Israelis commit war crimes they are the ones who investigate and decide guilt or innocence, same for the UK police, so by this logic Palestine Action should be able to put their activist on trial and determine guilt.
Or are we going for full double standards?
British state logic;
One activist lost their shit and hit a police officer with a hammer, so that justifies declaring the entire organisation terrorists, suspending their legal rights and arresting over 2000 people for holding signs.
See? Logic.

If I open an article and the splash banner is AI slop, I close the tab. If you don't have the bare minimum of discernment to not do that, what else do you consider "good enough" to publish?
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

Journalists, please! When you ask a politician what they think, and they tell you, your next question should always be "Why do you think that?".

Someone ask Kemi why she thinks Rome wasn't a state, or Streeting why he wants to privatise the NHS. Keep asking WHY, not WHAT questions.

A central issue at trial for the My Lai massacre in Vietnam was whether an Army lieutenant, or the Army captain who was his superior, was responsible for the order to leave no survivors.

Neither suggested the SecDef would have given such a command.

JK Rowling got a full *decade* of press as a martyr for being "cancelled" (declared passe by people online) and meanwhile nobody considers it very interesting that a prominent left wing author is basically banned from entering or publishing in the United Kingdom for her politics
so this is like, one of the biggest free speech infringements by a western democracy in our lifetimes right?

Every time I read an FDR speech it breaks my heart to see someone who assumes his audience is actually capable of understanding complex ideas and interested in learning more.
We have got to make politics intellectual again. It is the only way that societies thrive is when politicians have the capability to actually think and reflect deeply:
