The fact that a second strike like that in an armed conflict is definitely a war crime should not completely negate the fact that *there is no war* and ALL the strikes are cold-blooded murder. The whole chain of command are murderers.

a load-bearing component of “the magic of Christmas” is the invisible domestic labor of moms

you are now realizing how much she was doing for you and instead of just thanking her you’ve decided it’s about the decline of civilization
Because you're an adult you fucking muppet. You gotta pay the magic forward.

And he was right

Because bluntly he’s better at history than a lot of you

And you’d rather go silent than confront it

It's shocking how many wealthy parents don't adequately feed their kids tbh. I was a child myself the first time I discovered that, and it's still true.

I am also going to add , that part of the reasons we don’t means test is because of how often disabled people are abused by people in their own families .

That the PARENTS being rich doesn’t mean they actually take care of the kids and in fact often use that as control
I don't care if a non-disabled person accesses a disability accommodation for the same reason I don't care if a child whose parents are rich gets free lunch at school. We don't need to means test being a kind person. I have better things to do with my time than be a cop over social services.

Personally, I'm the kind of educator who advocates for UDL. Instead of individual accommodations requests, we strive to make everything as accessible as possible to everyone. Having a ramp and stairs always available instead of unlocking the gate blocking the ramp on request.

Tons of research shows people rarely commit fraud for social services anyway. We literally went through a mo ths-long news cycle about DOGE committing more fraud than they actually found. What is wrong with you people. Just let people have accommodations. Why do you fucking care?

Eugenics isn't bad because it's a bad word. It's bad because it leads to the mass death of the socially undesirable.

You can’t tell if someone is disabled just by looking at them.

There’s no such thing as the “genuinely disabled”.

You are not entitled to a person’s entire medical history just so you can decide whether to believe them or not.

People are not faking disability, most are trying to fake being well.

the robocop statue...sigh
the thing is, robocop 1 was SET in Detroit, but it wasnt really ABOUT Detroit, at least not directly. its also not really about cops.
Robocop 1 is about the inhumanity of corporations. about how capitalism and corporations dehumanize us in all aspects of life

Historian of eugenics here. I don't normally like to retweet bad arguments, but this is such a fundamental misunderstanding of eugenics, I think it's important to point out. I don't have time to debunk all of the ways this is inaccurate, but I'll highlight a few things and then recommend some books🧵

This. The second you say even the smallest, most specific group of people shouldn’t exist, you open the door wide open to people who want to exterminate everyone who doesn’t look like them.

Making life bearable for people with disabilities should be the norm. It shouldn’t be controversial.
And there has never been any need to defend eugenics.
NEVER.
There are ZERO ethical, moral, philosophical or scientific justifications for eugenics.
You cannot have just a smidge of "nice" eugenics.

59 House Democrats joined Republicans in voting to codify Trump's suggestion box for billionaires to complain about public interest regulations that prevent them from defrauding you.

And in 2020, the Democrats responded to the George Floyd protests by reaffirming their love of cops and funding for cops

The best way to navigate this is to BUILD AN ACCESSIBLE WORLD. This kills me, and in many/most situations isn't that hard, it shifts the burden of effort where it belongs (on institutions, away from people), and THERE IS NOT CHEATING.
The world just works for more people.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.
