Since I was a little kid I've enjoyed photos of the Truman renovation of the White House. They had to do this because the building was in very poor shape, having been neglected for years (there was, y'know, a war on). You can see the care they took to preserve the facade. Compare/contrast etc.

I'm not a baseball fan at all but at this point, I will fully throw my bandwagon support behind the Blue Jays to win the World Series just so that a Canadian team can win America's Game.

A small black kitten decided I didn't need to sleep last night; since I was up anyway, I finished up a cover of "Bring on the Dancing Horses" by Echo & the Bunnymen. We should all be so productive in a bout of enforced insomnia.

I'm not a West Wing obsessed lib or anything but the more I see pictures of this the more fucked up I think it is. It's like he cut off one of the hands of the Lincoln memorial with an angle grinder so he could add a big gun to it.

Weird Liverpool stat of the day.
Against opposition shots in PL & CL this season:

First shot: 3 goals conceded from 1.69 xG
Last shot: 3 from 1.82
All other shots: 8 from 8.05

The edges are way too high. The middle is 0.8 xG per game, which is fine. Some game state effects but it's all a bit odd.

Recently I've come across two characters whose popular and cultural impact far outweigh their screen time. I was genuinely shocked to learn that Grouty is only in three episodes of Porridge and Tyres was only in two of Spaced.

I'm sure the more telly-literate can come up with other examples.

Donald Trump is not paying for the huge construction projects at the WH out of his pocket like MAGA claims. He started out with that lie, but then admitted more than once, on video, that he’s been shaking down CEOs & rich people who want something from the government. As usual.

Let us pray for the health of every member of the royal family, but especially the seven people who stand between Prince Andrew and the throne, because believe it or not, the shameless pudding-faced deviant is STILL eighth in line of succession.

I've taken the paywall off this piece I wrote about the wonderful art my mum and dad have been making in their 60s and 70s, which is also about the general (underacknowledged) concept of late-blooming creativity. I hope a few of you might find a moment to read it: www.tom-cox.com/the-magic-ro...

Independent of his age, this agent is pointing what appears to be a tear gas launcher directly at an unarmed person’s head just a few feet away, which would be lethal force. Bit odd that his age was the main line of questioning here.
Ellis says the person having the weapon pointed at him is a juvenile, and asks about the rules involving juveniles.

Harvick: "Just based on that photo, he did not look like a juvenile. I believe he is 17."

Grijalva not being sworn in means she doesn’t have access to funds as a member of Congress, which means she can’t help her constituents. She has repeated this multiple times and Mike Johnson knows this but he’s going to keep lying about it anyway.

EVIL HACKER DID IT

And the hacker was SO cunning, they used the same image he had just posted on Twitter, moments earlier.

And if you believe that, I have a concrete tree to sell you.
