I'm sure there are efficiencies to be found, but Canada Post is mandated to serve a very spread-out population and can't just ignore rural communities or the North or charge them through the nose the same way private carriers can.

Maybe if we care enough about the service Canada Post provides we need to let go of the idea that it must be self-sustaining. Most government services aren't expected to pay for themselves, and the mandate for that came from a very different time than the one we live in now.

This could mean “it’s cheap because it’s fake” or “it’s expensive because it’s real” depending entirely on this person’s familiarity with how much fancy pens actually sell for. I suspect the former, though, because this would be an absolute pittance for a real Montblanc.

Asking Siri for directions feels like such a joke sometimes. You’d think when I ask for directions to Wendel’s it would pick up on “Wendel’s Bookstore and Cafe” in Langley (which it found fine when I said the whole thing) before it would give me directions to somewhere in fucking Nebraska.

I was at a VR event earlier tonight and the DJ had apparently just learned about filter sweeps because they were dropping them in randomly at least twice a minute, turning what would've been a decent set into an unlistenable mess. Don't... don't do that.
