it reveals pretty plainly that "merit-based hiring" means "you belong to the correct class and hold the right set of identities"
Odd how when people like Bari Weiss go on about 'merit-based hiring', what they mean is hiring nice-looking white boys from elite schools regardless of their experience.

I hope he gets screamed at in every restaurant, store, and gas station he tries to go to and is forced to buy a tiny house in the woods, that is of course just a normal size house to him, until he gets arrested in about 3 years.
BREAKING Greg Bovino has been removed as Border Patrol "commander at large" and will return to El Centro Calif, where he is expected to retire soon. A stunning turnaround after Pretti killing. Bovino's traveling blue city crackdown is over www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

Here's a regular white guy (literally "Chad") not a protester. because, "It seemed pointless, or just a way for people to expiate their sense of guilt." Chad witnessed something shattering. And, that all changed in a moment.

Excellent article!

Extremely funny that the champion of the revolutionary left/socialist boogeyman of Republicans everywhere is basically Leslie Knope.
One of the hardest things to do is bring campaign-level communications to the work of governance, and snowstorms are notoriously one of the biggest litmus tests that less-engaged voters use to judge mayoral administrations. This is an excellent way to communicate.

Things are so bad that the Minnesota prison system has had to launch a website specifically to combat DHS lies. The first major release from DOC officials suggests Gregory Bovino outright lied about the target of the Border Patrol operation during which agents shot and killed Alex Pretti.

My next question would be: "oh, okay, so the DOJ will be in bringing federal charges this week against Kyle Rittenhouse, and you now condemn the pardons of J6ers who showed up with guns to the Capitol building? just want to be clear on your position, senator."
BRENNAN: You have been a supported of the Second Amendment. Do you believe Americans have the right to bear arms while they're protesting?

SCALISE: In most states you are not allowed to carry a gun while you're committing another crime, and interfering with law enforcement is a felony

At least the Sunday news shows are useful to see just how low republicans and other trump officials will go to lie and debase themselves to keep polishing Trump's balls. They truly have no self-respect anymore.

people can get mad about Walz and Frey calling for calm and not extending unusual leniency towards protesters, at least in terms of arrest (prosecution should be a different matter), but i would be doing the same under the circumstances notwithstanding my other beliefs

state officials must continue calling for calm to avoid making bad facts for the Insurrection Act case which is inevitably coming, but the people responsible for this murder must be arrested
