Farage and Zia Yusuf are going to announce tomorrow that a Reform government will strip millions of EU nationals of benefits, more than double the cost of the NHS surcharge and cut foreign aid spending by more than 70%, The Times reports.

More Trumpian blood and soil nonsense.

When the enemy is praising you, it should tell you something.
Kemi Badenoch praises Shabana Mahmood's "measures to crack down on illegal immigration", saying that the Home Secretary is "bringing fresh energy and a clearer focus to this problem, and she has got more done in 70 days in the job than her predecessor did in a year."

Bet you they don't. Labour can't go far enough to appease those opposed to immigration and asylum, and they're losing support from centre and left voters by trying. If anything, Labour is actively creating more division by pushing this.

The government should be ashamed that its migration policies are being cheered on by Tommy Robinson and Reform.

Instead of standing up to anti-migrant hate, this is laying the foundations for the far-right.

I questioned the Home Secretary on how she can be proposing such obviously cruel policies.

The River Cherwell feeds into the River Thames. The River Thames fills up Farmoor reservoir. Farmoor reservoir supplies water to approx 600,000 people. Including my house.

As well as letting it kill our wildlife, we are drinking this stuff.
🚨 SHOCKING 🚨

A HUGE illegal waste dump has appeared between the A34 and River Cherwell, linked to organised crime.

Every rainfall risks toxins washing into the river.

We’re calling on the Environment Agency & Cherwell Council to act NOW.

Our rivers cannot wait. 👇👇

Agree, but the fact that they proposed it in the first place makes them morally unfit to be in charge, and the fact that they will end up overturning it also makes them too incompetent to be in charge
My guess is they will end up u-turning on the jewellery thing (you can already see it being softening in interviews) and possibly the 20 years (which is way longer than Denmark).

I wish the media would ask Mahmood personally about her own immigration history (i.e. how it is that someone whose family came here as immigrants can do this with a straight face).
"Mahmood said a raft of tough immigration controls were designed to unlock “the inherent openness, tolerance and generosity” of the British people."

Such nauseating shamelessness.

Do ministers ever think about the message their rhetoric on "handouts" and "golden tickets" for migrants sends about whether this is a government for people like us?

The government seems to be trying to simultaneously claim it can deliver Reform’s agenda better than Reform, while also about once a month sending out someone to decry Reform’s racism.

It’s genuinely sort of amazing that they still haven’t realised why that doesn’t work.

Obviously, the way to understand this is as an avant garde performance of post modernism in a political context. Imagine the political world is entirely constructed from a series of different moving planes that - crucially - lack any sort of referential depth. In other words, it’s pure performance.
