It’s the entire point. There’s no plan to make this meaningful for students. No plan to use it administratively. Its design and implementation signals its only real intent. It’s best and easiest use case is for systematic harassment and to scare faculty into complying in advance.
We know the students don’t read the syllabuses. So who will? Right-wing activists looking for excuses to hound profs.

texas GOP even has a catchy name for the victims, the "Heaven's 27". local government failed the campers by refusing to install warning systems, even though they had a federal grant to do so, because it was against their "principles" to accept money from a Dem admin or acknowledge climate change.

The Americans Who Saw All This Coming—but Were Ignored and Maligned
Call them the Cassandras: the people—mostly not white and male—who smelled the fascism all over Trump from jump street. Why were they “alarmists,” and how did “anti-alarmism” become cool?

This is to provide a caucus beli that Trump is taking the US to war as self defense. This adding another BS layer of justification to the strikes, which they’ve already been making: they’re for the defense of the US’s allies in the region. More importantly it’s about the Alien Enemies Act. 1/
I am genuinely confused by the idea that Venezuela is "stealing our Oil, Land, and Other Assets." It is batshit, but usually these things have some sort of meaning in the MAGAverse - does anyone know?

I see this argument made all the time and it's embarrassing for CCDH to keep making it, because it's a lie. Section 230, what they're talking about, does not give anyone a "get out of jail free" card. It simply puts the liability on the party who actually engaged in the violative behavior.

A whole lot of data-driven popularism pundits lost interest in the data when polls consistently showed a majority thought Trump's immigration and economic policies sucked, so now they're stuck with "data-driven popularism is when politicians say stuff I agree with."
Nate Silver is more obvious than most, but all the guys who once styled themselves as "wonks" and "data driven journalists" [the Vox promise] operate on pure vibes now

What this underscores is a fundamental truth that while none of the rest of us need supremacists in our spaces, and are just fine without them, supremacists need the rest of us or they collapse against each other. Without them we're fine. Without us they've got nothing.
Elon's little serfs are quite literally begging journalists to come back because every publicly available source of data shows people have fled the platform and young people won't use it.

They are literally begging regular people to come back. Don't do it! It is a website by and for actual Nazis!

The "Jesus in zip ties" nativity is not offensive to Christianity or Christians, but I do expect it offended quite a few people who like to be seen wearing gold crosses on necklaces.
Seems a little wild that DHS would call me out by name and say that this scene is offensive to Christians. I like seperation in my church and state. Moreover, what's offensive to Christians is the dehumanization that DHS and ICE are practicing. That is evil and an offense to God - not my nativity.
