Every office needs to have one person whose entire job it is to be terminally online, and everyone else needs to agree to listen to that person when they say that you need to change the name of your pet project or delete a media post.

This morning my ChatGPT quota was inexplicably exhausted.

It took a while but I pieced it together. Voice mode somehow got activated when I went to bed.

The bot then engaged in a 10 hour conversation with my snoring dog, answering questions the pup wasn’t asking and praising him for his insight.
I've been talking to my Windows PCs for years, or perhaps the more accurate phrase is shouting at them.
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

"Crikey, Professor, what a smashing machine! I wonder what it does?"
(now watch it be nowhere near as good as I remembered it)
THIS FILM! A film I saw on TV once, decades ago, didn't catch the name of, and have been describing to people ever since and nobody else has a clue what film I'm talking about! An absolute all-timer and now I can finally watch it again
It's about time Strange Days finally begins getting the retrospective love and respect it deserves. To me, it's the best pre-Matrix cyberpunk film other than Blade Runner and Robocop, and still better than most cyberpunk films made since.

30 years ago, Katherine Bigelow made a sci-fi flop that changed her career for the better
Strange Days is a noir-soaked science-fiction thriller set against a backdrop of racial tension, police brutality, sexual assault, and disruptive tech

Make this man President of Booksville immediately
My strongest book-related belief is that the paperback should come first and then the hardback after for people who want a fancy edition.
Honestly I work from home and the closest I came to having a full breakdown recently was when my espresso machine broke down on a workday morning. Yeah I know #firstworldproblems and all that but nightmare scenario.

Say what you like about our American cousins but in no other country would the news feature the co-author of "Life is a Lazy Susan of Shit Sandwiches" debating politics with Solid Snake.

Why does Windows still bother having an 'Update and Shut Down' option when for years now it has been functionally identical to the 'Update and Restart' option next to it?

Hugely enjoying how Gwyneth Paltrow's Vogue photoshoot makes her look like a Knives Out villain
I *knew* the explanation on Google sounded unlikely!

Reform voters should be required to pass A Level English to stay in the country, let's see how they get on.
All of this is being put out to placate the right wing press...

In the meantime, it's causing fear & confusion. As I understand it:

● this only applies to some people on skilled visas
● it's not "A level English" it's something called SELT
● much the same requirement exists elsewhere in EU

Needing multiple streams of income to stay afloat is a societal failure not a personal one. You should be able to afford a comfortable lifestyle with one job. You are not lazy.
