Maybe controversially, this is a clear win and a symbolic win, but it doesn't seem like a huge win.

The High Court just refused Sex Matters' permission to ban trans women from the Hampstead ponds. We're relieved that the ponds can remain a place where trans people have always belonged.

I cant explain how depressing it is that "trans people allowed to swim in public pond" is being hailed as a massive win for trans rights.
Like... the courts have essentially just said they have to harass us a different way to bring legal cases against us, not that way.

Time for Government to stop tinkering around the edges and scrap leasehold altogether.
Ground rent cap is good news (though peppercorn would be better straight away). Also welcome is promised abolition of new leasehold properties. Better still would be the outright abolition of leasehold altogether, a feudal anachronism virtually unique to England and Wales.

When you’re the parent of a dead one of ours your voice counts an order of magnitude more than one of a living one of ours so what you do with it kind of matters a fucking lot and I honestly don’t know if Esther is even aware of how her actions impact the trans community
