I'm going to be co-hosting a panel on kink in horror on Saturday in Gettysburg @voidcon.bsky.social with @probablyharmless.bsky.social, announcing it here because I didn't realize I was on it until Theo mentioned it to me last week 😂 but it's going to be fun!
probablyharmless.bsky.social
Oh did I mention I'm also tabling on behalf of Die Laughing? Kind of a funny story...

Surprise! The clowns are heading to @voidcon.bsky.social! @probablyharmless.bsky.social will be there all weekend and @cassandradaucus.bsky.social will be tabling with him on Friday (10/10), so please do visit us! We'll have stickers, a fanciful poll, and an exclusive zine! Be there or be square!
Screenshot of a text conversation between Theo and Cass. There is a photo at the top but it's cut off so you can't see what's in it. Cass posts the photo with a heart-eyes emoji. Theo replies "How to even choose????" Cass says, "I'm glad it's not up to me!" Theo responds, "Word" followed by a fire emoji. At the top there is a text overlay that reads, "Did we mention a fanciful poll?" The words "fanciful poll" are set off by sparkle emojis.

I combat this fury by only purchasing really fun socks. (I do most of my sock shopping near Halloween because there are some FUN SOCKS.)

What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?

Initially misread this as Bugs Bunny who, in my defense, also regularly wears a dress.

An absolute delight of a book that I cannot recommend highly enough if you like comics, classics, and having a whimsical heart.

My 9-yo and I wrote the cover story for Interzone #303, and we've created this handy synopsis using legos. Pictured: shark wearing a mech suit made of pirate shipwrecks, attacking a surfer on a chainsaw board. Oh, it gets weirder.

Yesterday evening I texted my boyfriend shortly before he got off work asking for his opinion on a Star Wars matter (in the secret hope that this exact thing would happen). 🥰

Happy book birthday to @jennykiefer.com and Crafting for Sinners! As a crafty person, this book feels hilariously disgustingly accurate and I loved it. You should read it especially if you are also a crafty person (who is not squeamish)
Jenny Kiefer's Crafting for Sinners. The cover features a pair of crocheted hands on a praying pose.

And I just… we could do this. We could afford to do this, as a country. There is no good fucking reason why we cannot do this. We simply choose not to because we believe that Jesus loves billionaires more than loser slothful creative people

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

Looking to submit to a zine that welcomes horror for all its nastiness and also pays 10 cents per word? Look no further.

Open for subs through October 7th: cursedmorsels.com/submission-c...
FLESH Zine
For this submission call, we’re looking for pieces (500 words or fewer) connected to the broad theme of FLESH. This zine will be included for free with Samir Sirk Morató’s Gore Poetics, a Cursed Morsels 2026 release. For context, this book is weird, erotic, grotesque, queer, transgressive, literary, and intense if that gives you a sense for the kinds of work Samir and I (Eric Raglin) are looking for. Your submission can be fiction, poetry, or nonfiction.

Pay is 10 cents per word. We’re asking for first worldwide print and digital publishing rights but no exclusivity period. Contributors will receive five free physical copies of the zine.
