i would personally never say 'drinks are on me' because everyone knows that one guy

a picture of tim robinson from the show 'i think you should leave' in a comedic sketch where he says he's paying for the next person's meal, so the next person feels obligated to pay it forward, and then circles around and orders a list of everything on the menu in very large numbers, expecting to make the person who was behind him in line (and is now in front of him) pay the meal. this is a form of 'joke' or 'comedy' and tim robinson is excelling at this. the joke in the post above is me suggesting that if I said "drinks are on me" in a bar, another individual would proceed to order an absurd number of things, like tim robinson from the hit show "i think you should leave (with tim robinson)." the jokes are adjacent, but not identical
