Actor, Writer, Celebrant for all your ceremony needs, Typo Queen; I cannot get away from my father's death after an RTA and my joirnalist sister's murder... so I make work about them instead.

Listen, my real obsession is death. 10 yrs ago I spoke to a room full of excellent people in Brixton. I wanted to explore what I'd learnt from touring my solo show about my sister's murder: Sometimes I Laugh Like My Sister. #Grief is astonishing and you're not alone.

Trump: What does Barbra Streisand have to do with this
More than 400 years of history and a decade of advocacy were torn down Thursday afternoon when National Park Service employees removed every single display at the President’s House.

Jesus Christ. The "pivot" lasted about 15 minutes.

Arresting a black journalist under the Ku Klux Klan Act for covering a pro-immigration protest at a Christian nationalist church led by an ICE officer is the perfect encapsulation of this administration's authoritarianism, racism, and trolling.
NEWS: The Trump regime has arrested Don Lemon in its latest crackdown on journalism after he reported from inside a church protest in Minnesota—despite a magistrate judge previously rejecting the case against him as unsupported by evidence.

NEW: Our investigation for @thenerve_news reveals not only that Peter Thiel’s Palantir is completely enmeshed in our critical national infrastructure.

It’s also the ‘cloud support’ for our nuclear weapons system 🤯

"Around 2020, a strange thing happened. In short order, three women who’d been important in my life—three wonderful, intelligent, women—got uncharacteristically, disproportionately, perplexingly irate at me over politics."

This writer may be the most perplexed man who has ever lived.

Northfield Minnesota is home to Carleton College (where I went) and St Olaf. The town's motto is "Cows, Colleges, and Contentment."

Also the site of Jesse James' last raid.

Anyway it's about as bucolic a place as you can imagine. ICE isn't just terrorizing the Twin Cities.

This horse shit is coming for the UK. They want us to despair: do not let them make us despair.
Organise
Vote
Be heard
Object
Look out for other people.
Be ready when they come, because they are coming; don't be surprised, be prepared.
@governorwalz.mn.gov: Trump called me because people stood on the street in 40-degree weather. Because Alex Pretti’s parents spoke up. And folks across the country did too.

This is untenable for the Trump administration. The country has woken up.

Scanning @politico.com because surely the news org that covers Capitol Hill the most would have dispatched a ton of journalists to track down member of Congress and get their reaction to that attack on @ilhanmn.bsky.social and Trump's complicity in it, and his utterly depraved statement?

Ian Austin, an Army veteran, was arrested for protesting ICE in Minneapolis. But he’s continued protesting. Senior reporter @julialurie.bsky.social spoke to him.

“When they say, ‘Why would you be out here?’ How the fuck could I not be out here?” he says. “My nation is under attack."

Now that TikTok has been taken over by Trump's hand-picked group of investors headed by far-right mega-donor Larry Ellison, users are being blocked from typing the world "Epstein" and video uploads of ICE brutality are being blocked.

Ellison is doing to TikTok what he did to CBS.
TikTok is investigating why some users can't write 'Epstein' in messages
The issue around the word "Epstein" comes as users experience outages and functionality problems since the popular video app was recently sold to a group of mostly U.S. investors, including Trump ally...

While independent bookstores are giving out free whistles, hosting protest sign making events, and donating proceeds to mutual aid, Amazon is *checks notes* providing technology that assists ICE in their terrorizing of communities.

Independent bookstores deserve your support. Amazon does not.

Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

My sister - a journalist - was murdered while wearing a bulletproof vest. The way ICE are operating they'll just shoot people in the head.

That'swas my first thought about this(characteristically all about my sister and death)... but that we are speaking if the US of A is absolutely chilling.
15 years ago I borrowed a bulletproof vest from a reporter so I could report from a war zone. I held onto it after I returned.

Last week the reporter finally asked for it back because he is headed to Minneapolis.
