And yet for all their obsession, not one journalist has ever come out here to rural Alabama and asked me (or any of the folks in the rural Black counties) about our helplessness at being controlled by the psychopathic white supremacist cult that has Alabama in a political death grip.
I feel pretty misunderstood by people living in rural areas, and yet mysteriously, this isn’t considered a problem.

It would take a two-word amendment to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 to subject ICE agents and other federal law enforcement officers to the same liability for constitutional violations that local and state officers currently face.
