I am a cis woman. I have endometriosis, adenomyosis, I have had ten miscarriages, I may have ovarian cancer, I an about to have a total hysterectomy. The idea that that malfunctioning, agonising, broken BASTARD of a reproductive system is what makes me a woman is actually downright offensive....

A respectable Victorian matron laid to rest in her coffin. Suddenly, her eyes flick open!

The blue, gaseous Gelth suddenly light into vicious red flame

Gelth-possessed zombies of the Victorian dead struggle to reach through the bars to take the Doctor and Rose

The Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) stands inside the TARDIS and promises us “Ghosts from the past. Aliens from the future. The day the Earth died in a ball of flame… The trip of a lifetime!”

Happy Coming Out Day!
I’m gay.
Came out on general release, as it were, New Year’s Day 1989, aged 17, with a lot of badges and illegal on a few counts (though I’d make it more eventually).
Fewer badges today, but I have a husband. Here we are kissing in the pink.

Richard and I (both with beards and glasses) kissing under bright pink lights in the Winter Lights display at Canary Wharf this January. I like this one.
It was either that or post a pic of me in rainbow jocks.

It occurs to me that the Doctor's polyethnic identity in recent times recontextualises Peter Davison's casting in quite an interesting way.
(For context, although you'd be unlikely to guess it by looking at him, Davison's paternal family is Guyanese. He has close relatives who are visibly Black.)

When I was new to The Avengers, I imprinted so strongly on Steed in his gorgeous grey suit from this episode (and a DWB cover) that this became his ideal look ever since
