It's important for people to understand that homophobic child abuse is endemic to the culture of hockey, especially in Canada, as we saw recently with the horrific bullying allegations in Stoney Creek. I think it's great that people have found joy in a gay hockey romance but it isn't hockey culture.
The show doesn’t even come close to depicting the actual existence of homophobia in and around hockey - be it pro hockey, juniors, or youth hockey - and the “movement” of people who enjoy a TV show where hot hockey players kiss has not suddenly fixed this.
