A trend I’ve noticed after having watched too many of these despicable ICE arrest videos is when bystanders demand they let detainee go, an officer suggests they’re being picked up for a serious crime to try and deter help. But we know that’s not true of a vast majority of people and the jig is up.

New — Video shared with me shows ICE officers in DC detaining a man on Friday.

Bystander filming asks man for his name. ICE agent lies and says he’s not allowed to speak to him “by law” and another says “We’ve arrested American citizens for being too close…If he gets any closer, put him in cuffs.”

Once again, hatred will not be tolerated. I work 24/7/365 to share factual information. One ends up disagreeing with something prompting a whole campaign of hatred.

Learn to disagree, learn to be decent and polite. I do not conform to living in such world where rudeness is normalized.

Be well.

If you’re in El Paso, home to Ft. Bliss and Biggs Field, and need food assistance, the Mustard Seed Cafe (where I volunteered) provides hot fresh food Wed-Friday. No questions asked. It’s main purpose was providing meals in a restaurant and dignified setting for unhoused, but is now for all… free.

It’s heartbreaking that the richest country in the world needs food banks to feed its people but it’s unbelievable that our billionaire politicians have forced our military to feed themselves and their families from food banks.

The Nobel Committee was right. It doesn’t take courage to be perched atop a huge nuclear power, and to use it as a bully pulpit to make demands for peace, or economic deals, or anything else. Especially if you have an eye to prizes and personal profit for yourself.

Seriously, @nytimes.com ? Participating in the raid on Iran? Blowing up Venezuelan and Columbian boats? This is peacemaking abroad? Do better.

The Trump Split Screen: A Peacemaker Abroad, a Retribution Campaign at Home

President Trump’s dueling personas were on display this week, providing endless ammunition to his allies and his enemies alike.

To play politics with that is unconscionable. It would be one thing if these were cases of underperformance, but many of those being laid off have stellar reviews and decades of service. This isn’t reform; it’s retribution. And it’s wrong.

These terminations will impact both Democrats and Republicans alike, thousands of dedicated public servants who have spent their careers working for the good of the nation.

A job isn’t “nothing.” It’s how people support their families, pay their bills, buy food, and put their kids through school.

He claims the cuts will only affect Democrats, as if Democrats are the only ones who choose to serve their country. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

Federal employees across the government are now receiving layoff notices, a devastating outcome of Trump’s political games. It’s outrageous that he would use people’s livelihoods as pawns to “score political points”.

Important points. This demonstrates how authoritarian regimes assume control step-by-step through extensive use of propaganda. This has been working by “informing” the population, both supporters of the regime & its opponents, of the ‘unusual circumstances’ which require intervention by the state.

The conventions of political reporting today are not well equipped to handle this concerted use of pretexts for instrumental purposes and the bottomless bad faith they employ. Grasping the industrial-scale deception at the core of MAGA politics is essential. 6/

This MAGA propaganda is deeply sinister. Stephen Miller has been lying about Portland/Chicago relentlessly. It's core to his project: He's trying to establish quasi-absolute power for Trump to simply invent pretexts by fiat to justify whatever abuses he launches. 5/

There's a huge gap between what MAGA media is depicting in Portland and what local journos are reporting. The term "provocateurs" is a euphemism. It implies they're doing plucky political theater designed to needle and provoke as opposed to manipulate and deceive. 4/

NYT piece calls these MAGA types "provocateurs." It describes "dueling versions of reality." Both are common MSM tropes.

But these are not provocateurs. They're propagandists. Only one side is employing deliberate deceptions on a vast scale for instrumental ends. 3/
