I work with archival films, and I'm going to start posting some of the interesting things I run across.

For clips where copyright is no longer an issue, higher quality versions can be found on my shutterstock page.

Every teacher in Alberta needs to descend on Demetrios Nicolaides‘ riding and pound on doors until he’s recalled
I’m deeply curious who’s going to be the government’s face on the issue while she’s gone. Normally I’d assume Nicolaides, but he’s clearly not appreciating the public microscope as it is.
I’ve probably seen a few of these bear’s descendants
They might not be as low quality as you think. Film scanning technology has improved dramatically in the last 5-10 years. I‘ve seen many films that got transferred to DVD or VHS in the 1990s-00s as a dark and muddy image that actually looks this good on modern equipment
Ugh, turns out the internet likes cats. Who knew?

Not promising to turn this into a cats on film account, but I’ll be keeping my eyes out for more cat clips.

There’s some cute bears a bit further up the thread, if you‘ll accept a cat alternative 😂

Something I love about archival films is that when someone had a couple feet of film left on a roll they'd often use it to film their cat. So many films finish with a few seconds of cats

So, here's some cats from the 1950s and 60s. They were loved

I get that, but logistics don’t go away for kids either. You’re not getting 40 kids through individual showers in a timely manner. Maybe the answer is is ending all public activities that might require cleaning after, but I think the trade-off would be a net loss
She’s obviously is stealing out of necessity. Take her to pick out a couple pillows of her own
A key point in a legal sense, or just a “this makes it even more distasteful” sense?
Between the tariffs, SNAP, and ATC/shutdown travel issues, I suspect Thanksgiving down there is going to be a massive flashpoint. So many people won’t be able to get home, everyone is going to make food compromises, and Black Friday will be noticeably disappointing.
You can spot American recipes for things like butternut squash because they add brown sugar instead of relying on the natural caramelization
The UK talent pipeline still goes stage -> screen, and it shows at a lot of levels

The USA talent pipeline is background extra -> minor role -> bigger role. It optimizes for superficial looks at all levels

Haven’t seen a Yamamoto attack on an Allied city this successful since [pulled offstage by a giant cane]
This is an amazing bit of data visualization

I wonder, would your data set let you identify any large accounts that switch from Platner negative before the revelations to positive afterwards? That could be really interesting
It’s interesting that she sees “taxpayers” and “parents” as different groups. What about the taxpayers who are parents and want their kids to get a good education?
Now I’m picturing a “Last Saskatchewan Pirate“ cover for the Writer On The QEII
You’re too cool and intimidating
I’ve seen a few organizations that, now that’s it’s fryingpan-or-fire time, are firmly settling their issues on queer acceptance

I think, consciously or not, they felt they had the luxury of indecisiveness as long as overall society was trending liberal.
