Schiaparelli’s 1937 evening coat represented true artistic collaboration. The illusory, surrealist motif was designed by artist Jean Cocteau, the embroidery was undertaken by Lesage and the garment was the vision of Schiaparelli herself #VandA #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

Tonight (Wednesday November 26) at 7pm, BBC4 are re-showing poet Lemn Sissay walking the postman's path at Dentdale, Cumbria. It's a lovely programme although sadly he doesn't mention the history of the path(!). It's also a lovely walk. sites.google.com/view/postal-...

Whilst pottering with the hanging baskets, with assistance from Podge and Thruppence (Tuppence STILL inside our bed tucked in) Thrups started growling and fluffing up. Went to see what the fuss was. Henry Heron and Brian Buzzard were gossiping in the vines!
