Even for me, this is pretty in the weeds, but the shift in tone in SCOTUSblog's coverage since Sarah Isgur and The Dispatch took over—more deferential to the Court, more reverential of the justices as celebrities, more credulous and stenographic across the board—has been...notable
Maybe this new blog can respond, in one of its first posts, to the argument that the term “interim docket” is a deliberately misleading attempt to minimize the (very permanent) doctrinal and real-world consequences of #SCOTUS’s rulings on emergency applications?

I will be sure to let everyone targeted by a Kavanaugh stop know that they need not fret, it was only an interim order.

I will let every trans person kicked out of the military know they needn’t worry because it is just an interim order.

NEW: Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser (D) says Colorado will not release Tina Peters after President Trump announced he is pardoning her state-level convictions.

"This is a lawless act. It's an act of intimidation," Weiser said. "It has no basis in the American law."

My dog does this great thing where all on his own he follows me into the bedroom when I want to take a nap and goes into his crate by the bed and then starts making his little noise of sadness/displeasure at irregular intervals until I evict him from the bedroom and then sets up a ruckus about that.

This the core problem with the White House Press Corps encapsulated: Karoline Leavitt just lied right to your face, you know she's incorrect, and you just move on to your next topic.

It matters that she's wrong and/or lying about it! Stay there!
Q: You acknowledged that CPI in January was 3%. In September, the last month we have data, it was also 3%

LEAVITT: It's 2.5%

Q: Not in September. It was 3%

LEAVITT: I have it in front of me

Twenty years ago, I would never have thought I would have come around to the position that most people lack the judgment to be safely allowed to make their own choices in so many fields of life.
I have purchased the PACER documents so everyone can read the impact statements submitted by victims of Do Kwon and the 2022 Terra/Luna meltdown. Collapses like these ruin lives.

Really useful analysis of data to show how many people are going to ICE detention from local jails. These arrests are less visible to the public - as compared to raids or street arrests -- so we don't see the full scope.
From @prisonpolicy.org: New analysis of government data from ICE via the Deportation Data Project shows federal agents reliant on local jails and police to reach their arrest numbers.
