they don't have enough guys, and if the response in Minnesota shows anything it is that trying something like this is going to drive a much larger backlash than anything they hope to gain out of it

"oh well I guess we'll just stay home" is not how this is going to go

I know this seems like a really trivial detail to get stuck on but this degree of escalation of force combined with zero warning is something I've never seen. For that to get unleashed on normies just moving along in broad daylight? Christ.

You may not have heard, but it’s important. Dems are holding shadow hearings on ICE crimes. Witnesses provided harrowing and explosive accounts yesterday. I provide some highlights from the day, and I urge everyone to watch and amplify them. Link in the replies.

People keep saying Bezos wrecked the Post on purpose but he could have just done that if he wanted to, no need to drag it out for years. I think he and his fellow traveler billionaires have thoroughly cooked their worldview and honestly believe there is a vast, silent, ignored right wing audience

Context: one of the speakers at a packed Surprise, AZ city council meeting after it was revealed that ICE has purchased a massive warehouse in town to use as a detention facility. The City Council has said they didn't know about it, and have no authority to stop it.

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

Again, there are over 146,000 voting precincts in this country. This is physically impossible.
we should all yell about this loudly but just saying it is a scare tactic, they do not have the bodies to do this widely even in just one area. we should yell loudly about that too to decrease intimidation.

Some people are asking what I want Schumer to do. He should be screaming over medical care and access to facilities. He should be going to detention facilities himself and putting his body on the line, as he did at the border in 2019. He should lean into stories about New Yorkers in detention. [1/4]

this is exactly right. "popularism" in practice amounts to an abdication of political leadership!
This part of our response essay is where I'm at. Boiling down all of politics to electoralism has been absolutely terrible for resisting rising authoritarianism.
