Some of you might know I'm trying to learn Spanish. My teacher says that keeping a journal is a good idea. Having to write stuff down helps with memory and recall.

As a lazy alternative I've decided to use Bluesky for this. If you speak Spanish or are learning, feel free to follow @es.seand.me.uk

You know how there’s been this big push towards encouraging older people to do puzzles, cognitive games, and to learn new things to keep them from succumbing to dementia?

Wonder where that’s gonna go with the rise of “outsource your cognitive functions to AI, it’ll be convenient” culture

Cognition is like strength. Use is required to not just gain, but maintain. The more thinking and cognitive work we offload, the duller we become as a result.

It's like deciding you'll use a mobility scooter without need and then figuring out a year later that you can no longer walk.

The cleavage-off?

Taskmaster on now. Much better!

I find it tedious listening to them all come up with explanations based on absolutely no data whatsoever.

Faffing about clambering in and out of coffins hasn't made it more watchable either.

So far, it is more tedious than the first episode.

Yeah, yeah. I know. America is important. But I'm so fucking sick of it absolutely dominating the UK news cycle. I get it. You voted in a turd and now you're swimming in fascist shit. But we have our own rightwing wanklord problems that need more national coverage.

Today's reality show was "World's apart". Surprisingly I enjoyed it more than expected.

Malware turned out to be way less of a threat than basically EVERYTHING silicon valley has been doing ON PURPOSE for the last twenty-five years...

Send him a letter from Billy Nobel to make it feel more realistic.

You're just starting to see what has essentially been happening in NI for half a century.

Or many of the other horrible things that are going on in the world. Obviously this is a horrible issue that needs resolved, but I'm always amazed how passionate people are about it while being ambivalent about other genocide-like behaviour going on the world.

They are actually quite tasty iirc.

I'll just see who comes out in support for each candidate. That's usually enough for me to make a confident decision without having to actually know anything about the candidates involved.

I'll give it a go.

The overall summary is that it's an interesting idea, but decent editing could have brought it down to 15 minutes without losing much.

Is very drawn out. Not much has actually happened yet.

I haven't seen that and I don't know either.

Celebrities digging around in dirt looking for a shield. The main reason seems to be to make them look undignified.

We now have Claudia Winkleman presenting. Not good.

The start of it with people in black 4x4s claiming "I'll just be myself" and suchlike reminds me of the Apprentice. Not good.

Watching the traitors for the first time. They talk about people being murdered in the introduction. Considering some of the contestants, I can understand the motivation, but I'm not sure it is completely ethical.

I don't think it is actually illegal where they are parked. Just very inconsiderate.
