That weird mix of disgust, horror, rage, numbness and exhaustion that descends when a group confirm your very worst expectations. So much of this shit, everywhere and all the bloody time.
They prosecuted the woman who made complaints against him. #nzpol

“Over a period of years, Lack said the woman attempted to report allegations of a serious physical, psychological and sexual nature by McSkimming, who was one of the most powerful police officers in the country.” #misogny #corruption
Police bosses ignored sex complaints against top cop, charged woman for 'revenge' emails instead

Louise Nicholas reported her assault in 1993.

32 years later, and we're still getting cover ups and intimidation of women abused by serving police officers.

Just seems a little short while ago that various government politicians, and people acting as their media surrogates, were outraged and scandalized by, and poured scorn on, comments from younger women politicians for suggesting many people don't trust cops.

Highest levels of the force - filth.

Can you even believe the gall that they had to keep a straight face saying McSkimming undermined the good rep of the police while knowing they were using the "justice" system to punish a woman who had been raising the alarm for YEARS
Former Police Commissioner Andrew Coster has now been placed on leave from his role as CEO of the Social Investment Agency following the release of the damning IPCA report.

I saw a random reddit comment where someone theorized that Pennywise and Mary Poppins were the same species of primordial psychic entity, but Pennywise feeds on fear while Poppins feeds on joy. both of them eat kid emotions because fear and joy are more intense in kids. This is Canon for me now.

That the Free Speech Union's conference audience is applauding the suggestion of basically banning non-Christian religions should pretty much put an end to their being taken seriously by media as a voice for principled free speech advocacy.

But it won't
If you'd told me that a speaker at the Free Speech Union conference would call for banning non-Christian public expressions of faith to an applauding crowd, I would have said yes, obviously that is going to happen newsroom.co.nz/2025/11/10/t...

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Every typo I have made over the past year has been (I assume AI infested) autocorrect doing its best to make me look like a complete incompetent
ok but why is autocorrect SO bad now? why does it change the correct typing of words to a string of nonsense and spaces now? like if COURSE i was trying to type "li gg t" and not "light," like i typed. thanks!! good catch, bud.

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.
