Democrats spanning from Jim McGovern to Seth Moulton have publicly called for abolishing ICE and there are clearly Dem votes for a shutdown so naturally "why aren't Dems saying anything?" remains the easiest way for low-effort clout chasers that don't pay attention to anything to rack up RTs

I am but a lowly civil right litigator, but I am *begging* people to be clear about different immunities in civil litigation. Qualified immunity is a SCOTUS made doctrine that only matters in a constitutional claim, which you can't bring anymore against federal officers.

we don't have a representative government and we never did. the sooner people accept this the sooner we can figure out what to do about it, but pretending that the ceremony of an election means we somehow control our rulers is a farcical delusion that allows them to rule us in the first place

This goes to my current theory of elites, which is that there will be virtually no consequences for any of this, because there have to be consequences for their being no consequences. It's a recursive problem. Go find your local dog catcher and punch them until they catch a dog, build from there
one thing 2024 made abundantly clear is that the electorate’s memory is that of a concussed goldfish and while prosecuting this administration is necessary on its own it is very important to be constantly reminding people how awful and corrupt it was
