So, let's play make-believe and pretend that Prasad has rock solid proof the vaccine killed 10 kids.

He is now sitting on it, refusing to give doctors on the ground the information they need to inform their patients.

The opposite of radical transparency.

FDA says it won't release details of claimed Covid vaccine deaths in 'near term'
Details from an investigation by CBER Director Vinay Prasad into 10 alleged child deaths related to Covid-19 vaccines won't be coming soon, an FDA spokesperson told Endpoints News on Wednesday.

If new proposals detailed in an FDA memo are put into place, experts told me it would mean the end of annual flu shots. And end of most vaccines for pregnant people. And maybe the end of updates to pneumonia vaccines. And more.

Annual reminder that one nice thing you can do as a coworker is, if you have to write peer reviews, just go ahead and ask your peers what accomplishments they’re proud of this year, and what they want to work on next year. It’ll make your job writing them easier, and help their best work be seen

I feel like many people don't know how hard it already is to be disabled and try to get these accomodations. And that adding more and more barriers probably isn't an answer to anything.

Trust me, if you go from able bodied to disabled it's a nightmare world.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

I have shifted away from timed tests, but when I gave them, I'd always offer way more time than students would need. If it's a one-hour final, and it's scheduled for a three-hour block, then you don't need to worry about anyone "gaming the system."
As an educator, one of the most significant professional realizations I came to was that all our time limitations on tests are completely arbitrary. Is there a specific reason this is a 90 minute test? Because we think it should take that long or it's most convenient to us?

“Non-disabled people do not expect anger. Loneliness, gratitude, and a quiet resilience are the emotions we are allowed to express. However, as Wong shared, in many tweets, blog posts, essays, and talks, “f— that s—!””

New research in #ScienceSignaling visualizes how plant cells generate different patterns of calcium ion waves to respond to microbes and wounds, helping to answer how plants generate diverse responses through this elementary signaling mechanism. https://scim.ag/49NigY0
Local traveling waves of cytosolic Ca2+ elicited by defense signals or wounding are propagated by distinct mechanisms in Arabidopsis
Defense-inducing Ca2+ waves in leaf epidermis are stimulus specific.

This is correct. #ArtAdventCalendar aims to be as inclusive as possible for both artists and art lovers. AltText is foundational and I won't repost work without it (and -many- others here feel the same)

If you forget all the time, go to settings > accessiblity : require AltText before posting.
One nice thing with #ArtAdventCalendar is that Jay specifies that he will not repost artwork using the hashtag that doesn’t use alt-text. That’s where I’m at. I have seen some wonderful artworks that don’t have alt-text, & it makes me sad, because I’d like to repost them. (Note: almost everyone… 1/

I was diagnosed with #HIV in 1998, when I was 30.
Many of my friends had died of AIDS. I did not expect to live to 50.
I’m 58 now.
HIV treatment works.
Treatment also makes it impossible for me to pass HIV on during sex.
Ensure HIV treatment for all.
End HIV stigma.
