An exile from Twitter, of course. Blackburn Rovers, politics and trying to work out why nothing works any more.
It feels odd to suggest it, yet there is some evidence that the ‘these are paid agitators stirring up problems’ line seems to work here. Nasty little grifters spreading lies about our capital, egged on by the right (does that exist anymore?) and the far right.
They hate our country

I prefer to think of Bank Run Ridley here less as a dangerous lunatic than as a one man argument you should let go of your imposter syndrome.

Decisions taken by Musk, Vought and Trump. They let food rot in warehouses, they shut things down rapidly and left staff and patients stranded. People started dying, and nothing changed. Now look at all these deaths, so many preventable
“Terminated USAID funding has also resulted in more than 164,000 additional child deaths from pneumonia, 125,000 additional child deaths from diarrhea, 70,000 additional adult and child deaths from malaria, and 48,000 additional adult and child deaths from tuberculosis.”
Quick takes: Death toll from USAID cuts, withdrawal of chikungunya vaccine, funding for updated Ebola vaccine
A model that tracks the impact of USAID funding cuts estimates that more than 760,000 people have died as a result of those cuts since January 2025.

He's so rich and out of touch, that when walking down the road and meeting another person, he immediately assumes they're going to be violent, and then claims his own son wouldnt be safe. This is just utter, utter bollocks.
Nadhim Zahawi thinks London is now unsafe, because the other day a tired-looking man walked past him during the morning rush hour.

What the actual fuck is he talking about here? These people have grown so used to spouting meaningless bollocks or lies, and then the room in front of them is nodding, applauding, whatever - when confronted by the silence that correctly identifies their mumbled nonsense, they dont know what to do.

In the latest 'we still havent recovered from the pandemic' news...
Shocking chart alert!

Patients waiting over 12 hours in A&E in England hit a new record high in January, exceeding 70,000 for the first time.

In the past, it was rare for this number to exceed 1,000.

This is only counting the waiting time after the decision has been made to admit the patient.

Surprised they conceded some points here, so that's a positive. Clearly we've all become bored of the BBC anti bias needing to 'both sides' everything when that sometimes makes them look ridiculous, but its up to all of us to adapt to the reality that one side persistently argues in bad faith
In short, while pointing out that breaking news with conflicting perspectives involves publication of competing accounts, pending clarification, BBC accepts it was slow to adjust once it became clear that only one side was engaged in to truth. Key paras in long email here …

Doesnt even acknowledge his massive lie about 12 million migrants coming to the UK in the last 5 years. His 'apology' about choice of language doesnt even entertain that lying about and demonising a group of people is inflammatory, unhelpful and disgusting. Perhaps he could come back and pay UK tax
Ratcliffe's non-apology apology...

CNN confirms what MSNBC reported live a few hours ago: DOJ is surveilling Dem lawmakers when they go to the DOJ to search unredacted Epstein files.
CNN: "Another photograph - these are notes AG Bondi brought to the hearing today. This shows a list of Rep. Jayapal's search history. Lawmakers are allowed to go to a DOJ facility to search unredacted files. We learned from this photo that the searches are apparently being tracked & read by the DOJ"

This is a lie, the report says it’s not true but the headline lets him get away with it.

Bondi laughing at the end is the real pièce de résistance. This is all just a big joke to her.
BONDI: You didn't ask Merrick Garland anything about Epstein

BALINT: Weak sauce

BONDI: And with this antisemitic culture right now, she voted against a resolution--

BALINT: You want to go there! Really? Talking about antisemitism to a woman who lost her grandfather in the Holocaust! *storms off*

It is so embarrassing that it has taken nearly a decade for a British minister to say this, a statement of the absolute bloody obvious
February 11, 2026 at 7:40 AM
Failing upwards is a bizarre trait of British politics that has been exhausting in the last 5 years. It's easy to be cynical, and have to accept that no serious consequences will ever occur to these people who betrayed our country, but to see them actually rewarded and promoted is extraordinary
One of the maddest elements of Brexit - and there are *many* - is the rewards that continue to be lavished on the blithering idiots who sold it & continue to be proved wrong about everything every day…
Ex Tory MP John Redwood has been made a peer, as Lord Redwood on 31 January, and was formally introduced in the Lords on Tuesday

It's hard to imagine that the security services of the UK, and Starmer's whole top team were not aware of this, and chose to look past it.
our FT story from June 2023 showed:

Mandelson stayed at Epstein’s $77m townhouse in Manhattan in June 2009 while the financier was in prison for soliciting prostitution from minor

in 2010 and 2011 Epstein noted that “Petie” was with him in Paris, where the financier owned a sumptuous apartment

I’d love to hear more about this 90 year old ‘Mr Toyota’ who promised him money on the phone
"In his more lucid moments, Donald Trump is being shown slop AI videos by his viziers" just seems more and more like the Occam's Razor explanation for this.
Trump: "Construction jobs are way up, right? Well, they're up because they're building all these factories all over the country. You have car plants under construction. I spoke to Mr. Toyota in Japan. I said, 'What's you name?' 'Toy-ota!' I said, 'If your name is Toyota you're a very rich guy.'"

More bombings coming soon, he seems pretty clear
Trump: "By knocking out those boats, we have dropped drugs, fentanyl, about 33%. Now we're gonna start on land. We had to do the boats first because they would go immediately to the boats. Now we're gonna him them on land. We're gonna hit them very hard on land."

Badenoch. I mean, given how obviously awful she is at everything, with no redeeming qualities, least of all empathy or integrity, this is a very bleak place for the country to find itself.
Forced choice head 2 head on preferred prime minister.

It doesn’t really scream “I am in touch with the American people” - who would want this guy in charge of anything?
there was nothing unusual about it at all, we were simply travelimg via boat through the caribbean with our multiple nannies when we stopped off for lunch on a private island with a billionaire registered sex offender. completely innocuous and normal. an all-american family vacation
VAN HOLLEN: Did you in fact make the visit to Epstein's private island?

LUTNICK: I did have lunch w/ him as I was on a boat going across on a family vacation. My wife was with me as were my 4 children and nannies. We had lunch on the island. That's true. For an hour. We left with all of my children

just a fucking weird statement on it's face but also highlights how filthy rich and completely out of touch trump's whole cabinet is. a private boat for a family vacation? stopping by a billionaire's island for lunch? nannies, plural?? the epstein class, indeed.

But no money for healthcare.
In the last month ICE has bought warehouses in:

- Hagerstown, MD: $102 million
- Surprise, AZ: $70 million
- Hamburg, PA: $87 million
- Tremont, PA: $120 million
- San Antonio, TX: $82 million
- El Paso, TX: $123 million
- Social Circle, GA: price unknown

This is unprecedented.

For an administration that claims so loudly to be all about Christian values, they seem remarkably unaware they’re all going to hell
Gonzales on Liam Ramos and his family: "They're not gonna qualify for asylum. So what do you do with all the people that go through the process and do not qualify for asylum? You deport them. I understand that 5-year-old and it breaks my heart. I also think, what about that 5-year-old US citizen?"
