An exile from Twitter, of course. Blackburn Rovers, politics and trying to work out why nothing works any more.
And it’s incredible how stupid they think people are to expect them to keep swallowing this obvious bullshit
I find it really galling when stupid people think you’re even stupider than they are.

I mean, I don’t mind geniuses thinking I’m dumb. They have a point.

But these guys thinking we’ll believe this? Gross.
Dr Oz on Trump lowering drug prices: "We woke the industry up to the fact that we were aware of what was happening. They said, 'Alright. The gig's up. You figured it out. We're gonna come down with our pricing.'"

I hardly think we can call Trump’s efforts a serious move towards peace. He thinks it’s Ukraine’s fault they got invaded!
3/ Since the Trump admin began peace efforts in January-February 2025, the Kremlin has sought to delay and prolong peace negotiations in order to continue its war undisturbed, prevent the U.S. from imposing measures intended to pressure Russia into meaningful negotiations. isw.pub/UkrWar122925

Roz is absolutely correct.

Deprivation of citizenship should not be a matter for mere ministerial discretion (with light touch judicial review).

In the extreme circumstances when it can happen, the determination should be made by a tribunal, where government and citizen can make their cases.
It should never be possible for any minister to revoke citizenship with a stroke of the pen. #checks #balances
Jenrick - like Farage - wants to be an unaccountable tyrant like Trump.
December 29, 2025 at 4:28 PM
This is being copied in the UK. Today, Tories/far right are angrily calling for the deportation of someone they campaigned for years to be released from Egyptian jail, after some horrific tweets emerged by him. At the same time they’ve said British people in jail for horrific tweets is an outrage
Trump (well Miller) thinks he can revoke even the citizenship of naturalized individuals who don't show sufficient appreciation of the American flag?

The most anti free speech presidency of our lifetimes.
The assault on free speech continues. Why do Miller, Vance & Trump hate the 1A? 'authorizing the revocation of visas, residency...naturalization for foreign nationals who desecrate the banner...' www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-st... @thefireorg.bsky.social @eff.org @mmasnick.bsky.social @karlbode.com

www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... I mean, this is fairly uncontroversial advice about talking to people helps, and men’s struggles often go over looked and unaddressed because we don’t talk. But it’s not that easy, is it? And some of us just don’t have anyone to talk to

And they’re happy to do that, because so many of them setting the narrative and taking the decisions were always xenophobic or racist, now they’re just far more open about showing it
Shamima Begum was the beginning of something in so many ways, one of which was 'the last government's inability to just do its job properly (in this case by passing legislation that would have allowed it to prosecute her here at home) and instead going 'no option but to undermine all our rights'.
There should be literally no circumstances, ever, where citizenship is can be revoked. If you literally sign up to fight for an opposing army in a war, then we should prosecute you for treason not revoke citizenship

This is all down to Trump viewing a smaller country defending themselves from an attack by a major power as stupid. He has learnt his whole life that bullies win, and he can’t even entertain the victims point of view
Invading and defending yourself from invasion are now morally equivalent.
How very dare they hit back at the invaders, eh?

I think the answer is "they're not white".
Interested in how you square the circle of “British people who post ‘burn down a migrant hotel’ during race riots shouldn’t be arrested” with “someone who posted pretty objectionable and racist things 8 years before they became a British citizen should be deported” and am sure someone will ask Nigel

It was abundantly and immediately clear yesterday that these people were being incredibly hypocritical at best, and clearly racist at worst. The mask has truly slipped for the right now as they embrace the far right. Philp and Jenrick wouldn’t have dared say it even a few years ago,
The Conservative Party is simultaneously arguing people shouldn’t be jailed for social media posts directly calling for violence, but also that people’s citizenship should be revoked over social media posts they don’t like.

Make it make sense.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... “There is no excuse for that kind of language," Philp said on Monday. "People who express that kind of hatred, that kind of anti-white racism, that kind of extremism who seek to incite violence, have no place in the United Kingdom." Farage riot people’s tweets were ok?

People sent to jail in the Farage riots who said disgraceful, law breaking comments was all wrong, and just for ‘hurty words’ they said. Now they’re saying someone who said something abhorrent should be deported. I wonder why the difference in proposed punishments
This was the government's position on "human rights defender" Abd El-Fattah in 2023, while Robert Jenrick sat in cabinet, Cleverly was Foreign Sec, and Sunak was PM - a position confirmed no fewer than ten times on the floor of both the Commons and the Lords.

It needs to be amplified more that the far right HATE our country, its successes and the thing we do well today. They’re not patriots, and should not be called that, ever.
