Hate my rich guts, I’m going to go fund research to end what ever disease I find “vulgar” or “gross” at the moment.

Etc.

Wealth is wasted on these greedy horders.
somesortofnonsense.bsky.social
And rich motherfuckers still share a planet with the rest of us. Personally if I had untold amounts of personal wealth I’d rather share a well maintained planet with well-read people who disapprove of me in an intellectual manner. Yes tell me I’m evil and I’ll go make another nature preserve.
somesortofnonsense.bsky.social
I disagree. Rich motherfuckers can build museums whether people like them or not. The difference between a signal and something that is real/tangible is action. Billionaires have “fuck you and your opinion” money. They are actively deciding to not use it on public services.

People will scoff at virtue signaling and then wonder why today’s billionaires don’t build museums, libraries, hospitals, and universities like Gilded Age ones did.

Stupid rich brat centrist former basement edgelord is adding nothing of social value but nudges centrists oh so slightly right by discrediting grievances against the far right.

I didn’t have the power-ups one needs to make it a productive journey so I’m starting over instead of continuing to rage quit after dying on spikes attempting to climb out of water ways.

I think that's part of it but the other part is it's men -and in this case especially rich men - and they already don't do those tasks, so they don't see them. This is why we're getting Samsung TV's with ads and not fridges that remind us to eat the lettuce before it spoils

This is the tell that they don't want people with creative capacity. They want menials and drones that they can use extract wealth from their lives and labors, then discard before the next quarterly report.

The actual cruel burden is the point.
faineg.bsky.social
it’s said all the time but I think we should continue to hammer home how insane it is that we got dead-eyed bros trying to sell us robots that will free us from the supposedly cruel burden of “creative careers” instead of the actual cruel burden of “doing menial household chores”

A few minutes ago in the House:

- Speaker Mike Johnson officially cancels votes next week, extending the House recess through a fourth week

- House Republicans block Democrats from passing a bill to pay the troops during the shutdown, ensuring they will miss paychecks next week
House Press Gallery: During today's pro forma session, the Clerk read a message from the Speaker designating Tuesday, October 14 through Sunday, October 19 as a district work period. Punchbowl's Briana Reilly: House gaveled in and out of its pro forma just now w/o recognizing Rep Elfreth, who was seeking to UC a mil pay bill from Rep Sykes.

Elfreth told reporters after that House Dems stand “ready and willing to take” up standalone legislation to pay troops.

A statement from The New York Times on the Pentagon’s press pass policy:
“Journalists from The New York Times will not sign the Pentagon’s revised press pass policy, which threatens to punish them for ordinary news gathering protected by the First Amendment. Since the policy was first announced, we have expressed concerns that it constrains how journalists can report on the U.S. military, which is funded by nearly $1 trillion in taxpayer dollars annually. The public has a right to know how the government and military are operating. The Times is dedicated to pursuing the public interest through deep, fair reporting and an unwavering pursuit of the facts.”

This was not why he won the Nobel Peace Prize and I do not understand why white people do not get it. He won it for getting elected to the presidency as a Black man in the US. They gave MLK the prize for his civil rights activism and basically treated Obama’s election as civil rights activism.
jacobtlevy.bsky.social
One of the only things Trump has ever been right about: Obama had no business winning the Nobel Peace Prize for what amounted to the accomplishment of being a US president who was not George W Bush. (Remember, he had been in office for eight months at the time.)

Three years ago, we proved that when the playing field is fair, Democrats win.

Now, MAGA Republicans in North Carolina are trying to rig the system through gerrymandering once more — because they know they can’t win in a fair fight.

It turns out that once you correct for this error, unemployment is actually rising faster for NON-degree workers - meaning that explanations in terms of AI replacing the college-educated workforce don't make much sense, and this looks a lot more like an across-the-board labor market slowdown.

The House Majority Whip is also insisting that a peaceful "No Kings" demonstration is in fact a "hate America rally" held for the "terrorist wing" of the Democratic Party.

Really feels like they're trying to manifest a violent reaction to it.

Emmer: "This is about one thing and one thing alone -- to score political points with the terrorist wing of their party, which is set to hold a hate America rally in DC next week."

Do you really have any rights if they are openly saying they will just make up reasons to detain you?
thematthill.bsky.social
Wow. Greg Bovino admits on camera that his agents can detain people if you look scared, change your demeanor, or grip a steering wheel too tight.

As his unmasked agents walk around with large guns to scare you, they may arrest you just for that — even if you're a U.S. citizen.
