Hello.

I’m a short, hairy software developer, who does acting and takes pictures.

I’m one of those people who really quite likes London.

I like other places too.

Here are a few photographs, mostly from my Capital Ring walk this summer.
Wimbledon New Theatre, early morning, wet road and odd lighting from traffic light, ambulance, street lights and dawn Greyish yellow tunnel at Stratford train station, with figures in the distance, with strong perspective lines Funky striped tunnel at King’s Cross station Concrete stairway at Hackney Sock station, with vertical wooden struts and red handrail

Wow. I‘m not sure which part of this is weirder: that they think Starmer’s rep might be worse than theirs, or that they might be right.

Palantir has pulled out of involvement with the UK Digital ID card, according to an interview with their UK CEO on Times Radio. They’re concerned about the reputational damage of being involved with an unpopular Starmer policy.

The real generational divide is people who refuse to watch a video if it could be an article versus people who refuse to read an article if it could be a video

I wish (a bit) - No, my office has moved from Wimbledon to Waterloo - and so I’ve been getting off trains/tubes early, doing a 30m walk into the office

Morning Light.

Yes, I quite like working in town.

the post office is a public service. it doesn’t need to make money. public transit doesn’t need to make money. the library doesn’t need to make money. some things exist for the public good and we desperately need lawmakers to stop thinking about them in terms of capitalism. these are not businesses.

Dawn over the City of London, from the middle of Waterloo Bridge
Light grey/blue to orange sky, behind a silhouetted city-of-London skyline, the Thames in the foreground, with a series of barges and working boats snaking along the centre of the river

My wife just told me about a thing where people are colouring in England flags to make them look like slices of Battenberg cake, how marvellous

The employee asked the girl and her mother if they needed help shopping. That’s it. That’s all. The misinformation, the insinuations (because the facts are inconveniently benign) are EXACTLY what was done to lesbians in the 80s. This is the product of hate and fear, not reality.
JK Rowling tweeting got a boycott of M&S, stretching facts to the breaking point, and making the world a worse place for absolutely everyone.

Hallo friends! If you’re seeing this please give it a bit of love for the algorithm.

Hey! I’m in London! I’ll be at Soho Theatre 6-9 August doing my very silly show A Passion For Passion and in Edinburgh after then.

I have been daaahn the “Exotic”.

The Exotic Superstore is their own name, not ours; a fantastic Asian supermarket on the Oxford Road, just 5m from our front door.

I do have to say the name in Kathy Burke’s voice, though.
