This could be the unified Dem position. It is wildly popular. Puts the regime on defense on two fronts at the same time. Good policy, good politics.
The Congressional Progressive Caucus, a group of nearly 100 House Democrats, will announce later today that it's formally endorsing legislation to strip $175 billion from ICE and put it toward affordable housing. www.huffpost.com/entry/doj-fe...

ICE must be abolished. It has become a lawless, rogue agency. Federal law enforcement agencies must follow the law, if they're going to have any credibility enforcing it.

We are demanding justice for Renee Good and the prosecution of ICE agent Jonathan Ross for her murder.

You can't "significantly reform" fascism
Hakeem Jeffries: "Clearly, significant reform needs to take place as it relates to the manner in which ICE is conducting itself. ICE is using taxpayer dollars to brutalize American citizens and to unnecessarily and viciously target law-abiding immigrant families and communities."

a piece of chicken
a piece of broccoli
(a) corn tortilla
one other thing

is that piece of chicken a wing? a leg?

how big is "a piece" of broccoli?

do you just eat your corn tortilla dry?

what's "one other thing"? a dollop of salsa? a rice kernel?

these are deeply unserious, wicked people.
Brooke Rollins: "We've run over 1,000 simulations. It can cost around $3 a meal for a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, corn tortilla, and one other thing. So there is a way to do this that actually will save the average American consumer money."

One type of person is someone who cares about their neighbors, gives time and more to help out, takes risks to help out, and stands together against this onslaught. Another type of person is Trump & his sick supporters/enablers who are 100% evil. Can’t wait for them to get shoved back under a rock.

@governor.ny.gov is right that the planned expansion of data centers will hike utility rates, her plan should make it clear that not one ratepayer dollars and not one electron of the existing grid will subsidize these energy hogs

Kim: After what we’ve seen, I don’t see how we can continue to support it. With the Republican majorities, they have just been enabling this lawlessness that we’ve been seeing.

For those asking why I am asking about ICE funding NOW, the government runs out of money this month and Congress has yet to pass the Homeland Security bill. ICE won’t be abolished, but Democrats can hold up the bill

Completely out of control. These thugs are repulsive. Abolish ICE (and more of course, but that's a bare minimum).
This woman is harder than goddamn steel dealing with these goddamn thugs. I want her to be my neighbor.
January 12, 2026 at 10:12 PM
Just abolish it! We didn't need ICE before, and now it's completely out of control. Get rid of it! Get a backbone!
Q: Is it your posture to put restrictions on ICE as a condition for funding DHS?

JEFFRIES: Renee Good should be alive. There was no justification. There are common sense measures that need to put in place so ICE can conduct itself in manner at least consistent w/ every other law enforcement agency

In Germany, a lot of houses have these Stolpersteines on their sidewalks or stoops. They’re a memorial to victims of the Holocaust who were ripped from that home. Some houses have a few. Other houses have many.

ICE has started going door to door in America.
