It's merely symptomatic of our postmodern ennui. There are no absolutes, and thus you perceive our world as meaningless, when it's really your own freedom you detest.

Geoffrey Garin was NOT in charge of Harris's campaign. He's not even listed as a key member of her campaign.

If you're going to make stuff up, at least make it interesting.
Geoff Garin (born 1953) is an American pollster, who served as co-chief strategist for the latter part of Senator Hillary Clinton's 2008 Presidential campaign and was part of the polling team for Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. He was a pollster and strategist in 2011–2012 for Priorities USA Action, a superPAC that supported Barack Obama's reelection, and served in those same roles for Priorities USA the 2016 and 2020 elections. Key people in Kamala Harris campaign: Julie Chávez Rodriguez (manager)
    Jen O'Malley Dillon(campaign chairwoman)
    Jeffrey Katzenberg (co-chair)
    Mitch Landrieu (co-chair)
    Cedric Richmond (co-chair)
    Gretchen Whitmer (co-chair)
    Quentin Fulks (deputy campaign manager)
    David Plouffe (senior advisor)

Antifa means anti-fascist. The United States is anti-fascist. That is one of America's core traits. We're defined by being a country which has repeatedly stood up to fascism.

If the president has decided to fight to make America fascist, you should plainly say so.

It's also frustrating because we're watching this in real time and people are declaring within minutes that Pritzker has abandoned everyone, it's like they think it's an 80s action movie and he can just call the cop manning the precinct desk and end the conflict in two minutes

Alec Baldwin and Wallace Shawn are still in the running!
staciajones.bsky.social
I haven't defended anyone, you weirdo, you're claiming Garin advised Walz and he didn't, he advised Harris and she told him to pound sand

Probably because he was only part of her polling team and not an actual advisor (but he shouldn't have even been on the polling team because he sucks out loud)
staciajones.bsky.social
No, that's exactly the point. You were right when you said no one told Walz to stop; one consultant may have told Harris to stop, but she said no.
staciajones.bsky.social
But it says right at the top of the article that Garin told them to dial back the "weird" talk and they said no
Geoff Garin, summarizing their analysis, stop saying, “We’re not going back.” It wasn’t focused enough on the future, he argued. Second, lay off all the “weird” talk — too negative.

Harris’ advisers listened. They considered the arguments. They decided to stick with what the crowds were chanting in the arenas.

When advisers who had been on the call briefed the vice president on the suggestions, according to CNN’s conversations with close to a dozen people involved with internal campaign decisions, she told them she wasn’t going to listen to the pollsters herself and would instead trust the instincts she had buried under self-doubt for so long.
staciajones.bsky.social
It's so frustrating because the article that started the whole lie about the Dems "not saying 'weird' anymore" was VERY clear that one person suggested it and Harris's team said no, were going to keep saying it

Some big account lied about what the article said and now the lie is all we hear

A reminder that Walz kept hitting the "weird" thing to the very end, neither Harris nor the vaguely defined "consultants" told him to stop, and the difference was the press stopped covering it

I've said that in real life though! I don't remember what joke it was that you posted, but I told my husband and he was like who's Marcy and I said "she's on Bluesky, she's really nice"

I went to school with a guy like that, he ended up working w ICE in CO but missed out on the current fun because he didn't think COVID was real, it killed him a few days before Christmas in 2021

He "loved people and believed in the power of prayer" which is why his FB was all memes abt killing libs
staciajones.bsky.social
The culture on Bluesky of medium to large accounts just fucking lying and everyone believing it has turned a lot of people's brains into mush

I see small accounts every day posting the truth and they get ignored and blocked

It needs to stop but it just gets worse and worse
staciajones.bsky.social
There was also the time Vitup Herb started saying certain local, legitimate NYC news sources were fake when they weren't, because he made an assumption which was wrong and their articles proved it, and his ego couldn't handle it
staciajones.bsky.social
The best I can tell, the reason Propter Malone went around individually @'ing people who liked a quote from a CNN article that I posted, telling them I was posting misinfo when I wasn't, is because he believed some big account's lie about the quote being fabricated
staciajones.bsky.social
Misinfo on here is fucking insane

No, it was not an "AI call." Machado called Trump! It actually happened! And this guy knows this by now but won't delete his lie.
staciajones.bsky.social
People are still saying she's a leftist Antifa who hates Trump and they are gonna be so mad when they realize that's not true
staciajones.bsky.social
People don't know who Machado is and are glad Trump didn't get the Nobel, but otherwise they're unfamiliar with her, so they're going to be really upset once it sinks in that her team is working with Trump

Here's the image again with alt text, sorry
María Corina Machado, the winner of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, has emerged as a strong supporter of President Trump’s military buildup in the Caribbean, arguing, like Mr. Trump, that Venezuela’s autocratic leader, Nicolás Maduro, poses an enormous security threat to the region.
“This is about saving lives,” she told Fox News last month after the United States began bombing suspected drug boats in the Caribbean, “not only Venezuelan lives, but also lives of American people, because as you have said, and we have heard, Maduro is the head of a narco-terrorist structure of cooperation.”
Ms. Machado, in statements to the press in recent weeks, has said that, should Mr. Maduro fall, her movement was prepared to take territorial and administrative control of Venezuela, and that they have a plan for the first 100 hours and the first 100 days of a transition.
She has also touted an economic plan to American and other investors, saying that a democratic Venezuela under her movement's control has the potential to generate $1.7 trillion in wealth in 15 years.
Since September, the Trump administration has been targeting what it calls drug boats in the Caribbean. But the size of the military buildup in the region, and Mr. Trump’s increasingly strident threats against Mr. Maduro, have led many people in both countries to think that the Trump administration’s real objective is Mr. Maduro’s removal — possibly by force.
Ms. Machado has largely avoided commenting on whether Mr. Maduro’s removal should involve U.S. military intervention inside Venezuela.
In an interview last month, her adviser for international affairs, Pedro Urruchurtu, said that her team was communicating with the Trump administration about plans for Mr. Maduro’s removal.
The opposition’s strategy, he said, includes persuading other governments, including the United States, to take diplomatic, financial, intelligence and law enforcement actions against Mr. Maduro.
But, he: “It has to be done with the use of force
staciajones.bsky.social
Yes, she said so on her Twitter. She also has praised Trump bombing Venezuelan boats.

I understand this isn't what people want to hear but she likes Trump and thinks he'll help her get installed into leadership. Her people have been discussing this with Trump.

Eh I was going to name names on this one but several of you follow him *and* he seems to have deleted the posts calling me a bot, so

But I mean there are a lot of spaces here on Bluesky where you'll get attacked for saying human life is valuable and no one really addresses that issue
