I also think we cannot over look the fact that Banana Fish is a queer series beloved by queer people and women. It's beloved, it's iconic, but it's not the mainstream success Demon Slayer is. They chose do take their chance here with a project loved by minorities 'cause they don't care about us.
In a world where Demon Slayer owned movie theaters, broke multiple records in the US, & had its English dub praised in every corner of the internet, it's wild a company could even consider doing a full on AI dub. It's like a captain drilling holes in the ship right as it gets into port.

Also include audio description in this. I queued up The Man Who Invented Christmas last year, interested to hear how they approached the AD, and while the description writing was fine, the voice was AI and felt spooky. That's taking a job from a voice actor and insulting the blind audience.
Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

1) who produced this "dub?" amazon or aniplex or someone else?
2) who worked on it? someone had to engineer it. what software was used? there is ONE LINE of info, haha.

Also if youre screaming about CR and their subtitles but are silent on Amazon *dubbing an entire show* with AI then its clear you only cared because it effects your subs and not the entire anime localization sphere. A company with more money than god should not be dubbing using AI

Banana Fish is an incrediblely important anime. Its an incredibly important BL series. I have seen for years people been begging for a Bannana Fish dub and release. Don't expect slop. Demand better from all companies.

Look. I don't care if it was an omnishambles on terms of presentation. Lifting the two child benefit cap is going to save lives -- and that's what's important. It'll allow for families to have hot, nutritious meals which will (take a drink) reduce strain on the NHS.

After publishing this article, I've heard from many that CR seems to be using AI to produce dub CCs. Now, thanks to a slip-up CR had with episode 6 dub of The Banished Court Magician, we can say that with 100% certainty: Crunchyroll is using the AI service Ollang.com for its dub closed captions!
