Guess I’m cancelling my Vogue Runway subscription, but not before downloading the ever loving shit out of every runway season and issue. 😁

thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.

You’re a “leftist?” Hold on a minute. It says here you used to offer “running lessons” in EverQuest where you’d convince newbies to /follow you and run them directly into a goblin cave to harvest their gear. I don’t seem to remember Marx mentioning that in Das Kapital
Girl if you wanna help out you can lmao
I was not expecting every publication to just roll over like this. Not even the pre-tense of defending journalistic integrity. Just quietly laying off staff and turning off the lights.
Yes but need multiple archivers for redundancy in case the data is corrupted or lost. Need to double check if this can be uploaded to archive.org too which is why I’m requesting perms of the article authors.
Can’t send you a DM but please message me here (or on signal if you prefer)
Oh yeah I’d prefer anything but substack but it seems to be the norm these days unfortunately
Tried but your DMs are closed! Shoot me a message. :)
Still I rise and still we fight. It’s not over until we say it’s over.
I have been talking about this a long time ever since I was in an industry that shall not be named but that is a canary in the coal mine.

I really thought we had more time before the tides turned. Fuck fascism, fuck censorship and above all fuck the billionaires.
Chilling effect of every news outlet removing political coverage.

we have been covering this for months and months now, here (again) is my interview with @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social about this subject from Thursday @teenvogue.com
This feels like the end of fair unbiased reporting in the USA. Huge blow to take out one of the last remaining journalists with integrity.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
Side note, if the the laid off staff banded together to write independent news coverage on substack or patreon, I’ll be the first to pay for a membership. Quality reporting is hard to find.
I’m so sorry to hear this.
Teen Vogue had some of the most consistent in-depth political coverage. Thanks so much for all the team’s work.

Do we know if they will be removing the articles from the site? I can get some archivists to make sure that the entire politics section is archived.
Crazy how necropolitics and Afro pessimist studies have been talking about this for the past two decades. Colonialism is a death cult.
Until we stop the oil and mining lobby we’re fucked on this front. With the economy in decline all I see are Gov of Canada ads for ONG projects. As if we’re all oil rig workers from Alberta and not primarily a service economy. 🙄

I feel like the Everyone is Twelve theory also explains why everyone wants Daddy, politically
Absolute must read for anyone seriously considering activist and community work
Other countries have safety nets. The US has women.

Their labor creates the illusion of a DIY society, making it seem like we don't need a net.

Writing HOLDING IT TOGETHER was a labor of love and fury and I'm so grateful to share it with you all #PubDay

the american financial elite, all at once, had abandoned capitalism in an attempt to purchase the power of the state.
