You can run a small LLM on a 4080 or any of the 5000 series GPUs above 5070. It take a couple of minutes to answer and it may not be able to remember a TON from previous prompts but you can train it however you want. LLM Studio can manage the model. Do with that information what you will.
I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

The latest Cloudflare and Amazon outages have got me thinking about utilities. We can't build modern software without dependencies. The days of running entirely on the client are over, which I see as a good thing. The cost is that we rely on infrastructure.
