My colleague and I wrote a piece about the urgent need for Europe to partner with Canada in building a digitally sovereign ecosystem—one that can withstand the threats posed by US tech authoritarianism:
"An independent, democratic digital ecosystem [will] safeguard privacy, protect freedom of expression, and ensure that technology is developed to benefit the many, [not] a handful of people in Washington and Silicon Valley."

Even if you decide to engage with other countries for economic reasons, don't put words like democratic values and human rights in your statements if you are not serious about them:
Once again, the EU cannot limit its trade & investment relations and cooperation to liberal democracies.

The EU should not pretend either that India is a like-minded partner when it comes to democracy, human rights, pluralism, and the rule of law.

As much as the EU needs to engage with with other powers on several issues, the narrative of "world's largest democracy" fits very poorly on India following its slide towards authoritarianism.
When two major democracies act together, we build stronger shared security.

It was a great pleasure to sign a new EU–India Security and Defence Partnership with Foreign Minister Jaishankar today. (1/3)

This is a critical point from Sen Chris Murphy: If Dems fold on ICE now, it could be a disaster in the midterms.

"The result will be a lot of voters who tend to turn out in midterm elections just won’t."

Who thought it was a great idea to have Rutte as NATO Sec General?
Until now, I considered this man reasonable, but after this outrageous statement, I lost all respect for him. If a commander immediately assumes defeat before the campaign even begins, he should resign immediately.

The EU should stop dreaming of creating a European pillar for NATO and continue to build ties with the U.S. despite Trump, the alliance secretary-general said.
