I’m proud of the work we have done and continue to do. I’m Trying not to hate the name change, but most of us came here for the mission.
Most labs are named after places because they could not or didn’t want to announce their mission. We always got to be proud of ours. I hope we still can be. 🔌💡
The Trump administration says it has renamed the National Renewable Energy Laboratory the "National Laboratory of the Rockies." "The renaming is effective immediately and will be reflected in all public communications and official correspondence." www.nrel.gov/news/detail/... 🔌💡

I chose ChemE on a dare from from my high school crush. He told me it was the hardest major and there was no way I could do it. He flunked out. I got a PhD.
My dad talked me out of environmental engineering because “you don’t even clean your own damn room”. He was right.
Asked my high school physics teacher what environmental engineering was. They said don’t worry about it, it’s not for you.

It’s not just the Ivy League. The gross jerk from ASU isn’t a surprise either. Predators still rise to the top of many. Academia is disgusting.
Could argue the misogyny Summers expressed both publicly while president of Harvard and in emails to Epstein says more about the culture at our most elite institutions than any of the frontpage freakouts over academia in the past few years but hey

Being nice to people is just fun. Asked young server at taco place how her day was going (fine but tired) and she asked me back. I said I managed to finish my to-do list and she unexpectedly gave me a high five! Treating people like people is always rewarding.

What will the impact of the US's green retreat under President Donald Trump be — for the economy and for the world? A fascinating new Bloomberg Economics analysis gives us some hints.

Pick one from each line:
Girlboss, skittle-haired, pajama clad, dog mom, obese police abolitionist, socialist. Really much fast to just admit you hate women.
it's utterly wild how the Heritage Foundation president talks about other people

if you found a guy talking like this outside, you'd probably call the cops

Not the time to stay unbothered and in our own lanes. Moisturizing may not be enough either.
One thing that stands out when you read about authoritarian regimes is how often they benefit from the reluctance or refusal to grasp what they see as possible.

A normal person thinks “of course congress will return, you can’t abolish congress” and the fascist thinks: says who. watch me.
People need to realize that the republicans have effectively dissolved Congress that Trump
May very well never step in to turn it back on.

The republicans who back Trump at a high level have been saying that is their goal for decades.

My child just escaped a school shooting. The school district says the lockdown drills saved lives. I call BS. Nothing prepares you for that terror. Nothing prepared me for that text.
America always chooses violence, so they sent more cops and gun sniffing dogs to welcome them back. It’s the guns.
"I don't really want to teach about how to escape active shooters at school"-an English teacher who started at $30K/year.

Lockdown drill for elementary aged kids. I can't believe this is what we've chosen. "The shooters have all been through these drills."

When I ran a coal plant we kept 7 - 14 days of coal in the pile to accommodate rail volatility. When we got below 3 we started curtailment planning to ensure critical loads were served. Anyway, please tell me more about how PV can’t work because it requires overnight on-sight energy storage.

My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

My kid was hiding in a teacher’s office with 38 kids while that psycho shot at them. Kids should not have to have a plan to survive a shooting in every classroom they enter. She is still mad at the media for filming as they got out, but I guess these stories have impact. It’s the guns.
