Not mine! And, moreover, you have to have 9 credit hours in the current + 2 previous semesters, rolling.
Spring - 3 credits; Summer - 3 credits; you're ready to defend in the fall, so you want 1 credit... nope. That's only 7 so you have to take 3 for compliance. Think I did 1, 7, 1.

There is no polite way to get someone's foot off your neck. And that should never be the expectation.
